I was so excited to go into this place, and was so disappointed when I finally did. I walked in and the gal behind the counter looked up, didn't say a word and proceeded to give me the stink eye the whole time I was there. I had a question about a picture that was not priced, and when I asked her if she could tell me how much it cost she rolled her eyes at me and seemed totally annoyed that I was pulling her away from her perch at the register. Shit service, below average stuff, and overpriced.
I have spent many a night in this place. I wanted so bad to love it, I kept trying, but I just can't. I think the owner Carol ruined it for me, and if any of you have met her you will understand what I am saying, she is awful. I have watched her go on a homophobic rant and also was present when she belittled a regular and called her a "stupid whore". Awful. If you love a dive bar as much as I do, keep searching, there are better places to sip a Pabst and listen to George Jones on the jukebox,
I am madly in love with the blue cheese and bacon fries. That being said, I have to say that I am not so in love with the service. Sorry. There seems to be a staff that is too interested in working in a hipster joint that they kinda brush off the customer. I keep going back, hoping it'll get better, but it doesn't. Quite frankly, the staff is below average. Did I mention blue cheese and bacon fries though?
My boyfriend and I have visited Alexander's on many occasions. The wait staff is always super nice and the food has never been anything but delicious. If you have never been here, do yourself a favor and give it a shot.
The best place ever! A co worker and I went into this inviting bar on a Saturday afternoon and felt welcome as soon as we walked in! Excellent, friendly regulars were sitting at the bar and wasted no time in making us feel at home. The bartender Jesse was a doll, very friendly and even bought us a shot. I recommend this place to everyone. Relaxed, inviting crowd, and a very laid back atmosphere.
