Quick, friendly, efficient and at a decent price. All I can ask for when I get a smog check. I left my phone behind and the person there secured it until I went to pick it up.
Final thought: I would return
A locals favorite according to Yelpers. This place has been here as far back as I can remember and this was my first visit. Small restaurant with a nice view of the docked boats at the wharf.
We were greeted with a friendly smile and told about 3 times that they have the best calamari in Monterey. Great way to market the appetizer, because we decided to give it a try. Good Calamari, but not sure if I would call it the best. They were little calamari steaks, not the rings or tenticles I was hoping for. At least they weren't tough to chew and have good flavor.
I had the Jumbo Crab Sandwich, which wasn't jumbo at all. It did however have fresh crab and tasted very good with the bacon and egg bread. It came with a side of very basic fries and decent coleslaw.
My girlfriend had the fish-n-chips and those could have been much better. They werent fried enough and batter was soggy on some parts.
My mom enjoyed her sand dabs, my dad enjoyed his calamari parmesean and my brother seemed to like his cheese steak sandwich.
Since we were there to celebrate my moms birthday, they offered her a free dessert of her choice. She went with the Creme Brule and we all shared since it was a large portion. Though the complimentary dessert was appreciated, I can't help but feel the creme brule had been sitting in a refrigerator waiting to be ordered. The reason I say this is because there was absolutely no crunch to the torched sugar, perhaps the one feature a creme brule should always have.
Final thoughts: For being a local favorite, I was hoping for some local beer on tap like Carmel Wheat. They only have Fatlip and Stella.
Just came in here for an oil change. $30. I do all my repairs here and its worth the 25 minute drive here just for the oil change. I called the day before and even though he was booked, he was able to squeeze me in. Owner is really nice and remembers me everytime I go. Can't get a better repair shop than this.
Final Thought: Look no further, you won't be disappointed!
I used to get my Pan Dulce at Panaderia Rica down the street from here because it was the closest place to home. Never again am I going there. Once I tried Mexico Bakery I was hooked. The breads are better quality and taste way better. My girlfriend and I love the conchas. They are so popular they are constantly running out. Often times they are fresh out the oven when we get there. From other reviews I need to try their tortas. Added to my bucket list.
Final thought: I can't imagine any other place beating Mexico Bakery.
Its been awhile since I've been here, due the the service I received the last time.
I love the free muscles they provide wit the meal. The rolls are large and very tasty. For the size of the rolls, they are put together nicely and don't fall apart on you. Rolls come out quickly and service was good.
Final Thought: Cha Cha Sushi is back on top!
After returning from Seattle where great food is easily found, I turned to my fellow Yelpers to help me decide on a great place to get a sandwich in San Jose. Though this place had great reviews, I sadly did not agree with most people.
I had the meatball sandwich. The sandwich looked great when split in half, but upon my first bite, I realized that I was mislead by the other reviews. The place seems to be family owned with family recipes. Being Sicilian, I expected much better flavors and a lot less salt. It was difficult to eat the sandwich with the amount of sodium it contained.
Final Thought: i will give them one more try, but would avoid the meatball sandwich.
I've passed this place many times and finally decided to give it shot. I had The Malibu™: Hot, chopped pastrami and swiss on toasted garlic cheese
bread with mayo, italian dressing and avocado.
When I first got the sandwich I thought it was small for the price I paid, but there was a good portion of pastrami and the flavor was mouth watering! Large garlic cloves were baked into the bread which I especially enjoyed.Service was also very good! I was very happy with my experience here and would return!
Final Thought: Price is more about quality than quantity and very well worth it!
Disgusting breakfast sandwiches makes even McDonald's look good! The bagel itself was just okay, but the eggs were not good and looked Styrofoamy. The sausage was gross and unappetizing. The cheese looked like it was melted the day before. I don't know how this place stays in business.
Final Thought: Over $20 for two crappy sandwiches and two coffees. I will not be returning.
Enthusiastic tour guides with cheesy innuendo jokes, still made me laugh. The tour was cool. I like the stories more than the actual underground. You'll learn how stupid the first settlers were when it came to EVERYTHING! Did you know Seattle exists today because of the prostitutes paying 87% of the city's taxes? Yea!
Final Thought: It was a cool informative tour, but it is a one time thing. If you've never been, you should!
Yay! I'm the 500th reviewer!
We were never supposed to come here, we ended up here because the Seattle Art Museum was closed. Great exhibit with wonderful shapes and colors of glass. The artist has an amazing imagination. The $20 entry fee is a little steep for this short exhibit, but the artwork is so captivating.
Final Thought: I would recommend this museum.
