Ben, Josh, and Miranda are the best. They were a great online shop before they had this space. They carry the best brands: Rogue Territory, Red Wing, Santa Rosa, etc. All made in America, quality brands. If you are looking for something that will last you a long time and look better as it ages then check out their shop! They will help you out with any you need. I have bought multiple items from them: boots, jeans, socks, and shirt. Definitely great service.
I have been going to Slapfish basically since they opened. I loved the place, especially the chowder fries and lobster roll. I would get massive cravings for their chowder fries and just have to go.
This review is for my last visit. I haven't been here in awhile and decided to come and get dinner with some friends (who have also been here multiple times). This is basically the first time going since they have opened multiple locations.
First off they had 2 people working in the front. One at the register and 1 food running. On a Saturday night at 7:30, this is pretty short staffed. It took a bit to get our order down, but we did.
We ordered fried pickles, chowder fries, crab dip, and I had the Lobster surf and turf burger, my friends had a Surf and Turn burger and the other had the lobster roll. When they brought the chowder fries out I was thoroughly disappointed. They used to serve it in a bowl topped with chowder and bacon, but now it is served on a square paper plate, with at least half the fries as before. Not only that but they got rid of their Crystal hot sauce. We ate the chowder fries, but were bummed because it was only really enough for 1 person as an appetizer.
My surf and turf burger was decent, but way too much Thousand Island dressing and the burger patty was thin and seemed like it was frozen, which is not the way I thought Slapfish would do it. I thought they would have use their signature Awesome Sauce, but no. My friend who got the Lobster Roll commented "Does this look smaller?". Indeed it was, but the priced had lowered too (it was $19 that night).
I don't know what happened Slapfish, did you get new investors to open your other restaurants and let them take the reigns? I most likely will not come back because of the change in culture that has seemed to take place here. This used to be my favorite and now, I can find better else where.
I hope that someone from Slapfish comments on this post because I would really like to know what has happened since they have opened other places.
TLDR; More locations have opened (more investors?), decrease in portions and quality.
Is this supposed to be a gastropub? It kind of seems like it, but for $11+ for a burger you would think that you would get fries with that, but not here. Just the burger and it is not even Kobe, just angus. I will not be coming back. I really wanted to like it from the rave reviews. Just can't now.
Seriously people. It is not In-N-Out and it is not trying to be. They are completely different and you get more meat here than you could with a 4X4 at in n out. I love both but have gotten to really enjoy Five Guys because of the unlimited toppings and countless combinations. Not to mention they have Cajun Fries. They are different so stop comparing. Not 5 stars because the buns get really soggy with mushrooms or sauce when not specified to be on the side. Otherwise it is the best.
Love this place. A very cool twist on BBQ, if you dont know what i mean then if you go you will see. Cayenne Honey Carrots and cranberries in the cornbread? Amazing. The pretzel buns on their pulled meat sandwiches are very very very very good. Get the hush puppies or friend pickles for appetizers.
Great place. They were quick and told me everything they had to do. Thankfully they did a tear down and found more damage then they saw from the initial estimate. It may have cost my insurance a little bit more but they are on top of their stuff. How could they guarantee their work if they let the little stuff like that go by? would definitely recommend to anybody in the LA area. Best work around on my Mercedes.
Had an internship right across the street and somebody told me that this place serves Boarshead meat. I went over there and now eat there almost everyday. Turkey with everything and extra peppercinis(or however you spell it). Cant go wrong.
Not a place you want to go for a long lunch or dinner. They are fast and I mean fast. They are located where there are alot of businesses so when you go there for lunch they know that most of the people have to get back to work in an hour or so. They are fast and HASSLE FREE. Great orange chicken, garlic shrimp, fried wontons, and egg flower soup.
Best turkey around. And the squaw bread is amazing. Cant do wrong. Nicest people run the place too with decent prices. I have lived across the street for little over a year and have never been here. Now i go twice a week. Keep it up.
