Can i just say my mouth is watering and drool is slowly coming down my cheek everytime I think about Green Eggs.
This establishment has a good cafe feel and the customer service was up to par. You have one person taking your drink order and another taking your food order.
Look at their speicals because there might be an item that will shock you and must get.
My brother and I split their pumpkin french toast and that thing was so amazing I probably got 5 cavities. I couldn't stop eating it bite after bite.
He also ordered the chicken and waffle benedict which was very flavorful with the hollandaise sauce. If you want to eat 3000 calories go for this.
I opted for their shrimp bacon and grits and it was lovely! hahhaha I'm not a huge grits fan but they know to make grits. It has a spicy kick but it was soooo good. I had to stop myself from trying to finish the whole plate.
This place doesn't disappoint :)
Im still thinking about you!
I was in town for a work trip and I dragged my really good friend who lives in Philly to try marigold kitchen out.
Let me tell you: This was a great dining experience. It's perfect for a date or for a group of foodies.
The cool part is 1) its located in University and tucked in a residential area. You walk into a house like restaurant.
2) The menu is always changing so go there with an open mind and enjoy the experience.
3) Gastronomical presentation/food (my absolute fav)
4) its a tasting menu so don't expect to think you are going in about to order something.
Because I'm from LA where the culinary is impeccable with new innovative ways of eating and making food, this place is up there. Probably one of the few good restaurants out there in Philly.
Go and enjoy .....
This place is awesome! Been wanting to check it out. Interior is impeccable. It's set up to look like an old library. Couches all over; personal booths, and bar seating too.
This is a good place for a date. The ambiance has a good intimate feel and also this a good place to pre drink w friends. They have a shuffleboard table on one side and also a foosball.
I'll definitely be back :)
Can I please give this place 3 more stars!
So first of all...I've been to several pilates studios, done weight training, cycling and etc but let me tell you ...nothing compares to this place!
This place is amazingg!! It's by far the hardest workout I've ever done. Even their beginner's class makes you sweat. It's not easy at all. After my first session, I woke up in the morning feeling so sore all over my body but it was the good sore that you know you had a great workout!
The staff as well when you walk in are so helpful and nice. Don't feel intimidated at all and give it a shot!
Big shots to Stephanie for helping me correct my form at times.
Try this place out! You won't regret it. I'm addicted and I only went twice.
I came here for Labor Day Weekend for brunch to celebrate two of my really good friends' birthday! I had this place bookmarked for a really long time so I was excited that my gfs chose this spot for brunch.
Sadly I was very disappointed. I think my experience was completely ruined with the lack of good customer service overall.
We had reservations for a party of 5 for 1:30 pm.
We started off with drinks (beer and a pitcher of sangria) It literally took 45 minutes for our drinks to come out. Well I figured ok; this is one of those restaurants that take their time into making it an amazing experience.
Next off they took our order for food and appetizers.
It took another 45 minutes for our first course to come out and when we brought it to their attention our 2nd course came out 5 min after we just got our appetizers. How am I suppose to enjoy the 1st when the 2nd came already. The sad part was my two gfs that ordered the soup; well their soup of lukewarm. It makes you question if the soup had been sitting out but wasn't brought out to us.
After we had our main dish and the more waiting we were doing for dessert and etc; we asked for the check because I was already frustrated of the dining experience. My girlfriend wanted to speak to the manager and when we addressed it to the manager of the time and overall experience he said sorry and will take care of it.
The check was brought to us thinking something was comped. Well nothing was and I just felt with this type of restaurant their number 1 mission statement would be to make their customers happy especially after a brunch that took 3 1/2 hours! The valet guy had to come to our table and tell us their closing since they're preparing for dinner.
PS I had dinner plans with a gf at 6 pm and I had to cancel that because I didn't expect to be at brunch til 5 pm.
So disappointed :/
One of my favorite chefs does it again! This place meets my expectations of great amazing food!
My friend and I had our share of Oysters! They were fresh and absolutely yummy. I tried it with the ponzu and mignonette sauce but I prefer just tabasco and salt.
The few dishes that we loved were:
Grilled octopus ( must try)
Lobster Dumpling Pie ( delicious and you have to do it!!! You won't regret it it)
The only way to end a meal:
CHOC PRETZEL BREAD PUDDING (TO DIE FOR! I would come back just for the dessert Mmmmmm..I'm still drooling!)
Tip: Reservations must be booked wayyyyyyy in advance for the prime times like 7:30 pm. I booked a month in advance but if you're flexible the 5 pm or late evening are usually open if you don't want to wait a month.
Finally went here for dinner! I have been dying to go. Place gets packed even for weeknight so snag reservations!
Some of our favorite dishes were the
-pea toast (must try)
-Grilled octopus( yum yum yum)
-Lobster roll (of course! why not)
and ended with PURE HEAVEN:
MONKEY BREAD PUDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU BETTER AND WHEN I SAY BETTER ORDER IT! YOU BETTER!
Oscar's is gets 5 stars in my book!!
Good place for groups to catch up. My recommendation is to come here around 7:30 pm and you should be fine without having to wait. They don't take reservations for parties smaller than 6.
When it comes to food! My group of 3 practically went HAM on ordering and demolished every morsel of food.
-Mexican corn is a must
-chorizo burger is pretty big and heavy ( delicious)
- chips and trio dip (ehhh it was ok)
- mac n cheese w bacon ( yes yes yes )
-spicy orange chicken wings ( soooo good you'll be knawing at your fingers when you're done)
-baja fish tacos (pretty daymm good)
Drinks: try their margarita and sangria
we left in a massive FOOD BABY!
I never tried Gjelina's brunch menu until the past weekend and let me tell you. They still do not disappoint!!
My friend and I had a few plates to share. We went for the blueberry ricotta pancakes and OMGGGGGGGGG!!! pure joy and tears in eyes. It was prepared almost perfectly!
We also got the the bacon. They were kidding when it came out. It was a thick juicy maple syrup bacon. MMMMMMMMMmmmmm...fatty but what duhh it's what makes it bacon! We also tried their duck confit hash and I loved that as well and my friend got the baked egg and that too was GOLDEN!
Go for brunch and they don't take reservations so if I were you, drop by around 11:30ish and you should be fine to avoid the late birds that would manage to crawl into this place around 1:00 pm.
PS now I'm hungry thinking about this place.
