The absolute worst of the worst. Not only was the place a depressing, dirty dump but the salespeople seemed indifferent to our presence. We had to track someone down to help us. The someone we found knew shit about the product and cars in general. He also lied to us about the condition of the CPO vehicle we were interested in. They did the old-fashioned go-back-and-talk-to-the-manager hokey pokey for way too long and we finally walked. Avoid at all costs.
What a giant ripoff! I went through the drive-thru today to get some udon. The posted menu was kind of confusing, so I asked the lady in the window what kinds they have. She rattled off a few--I picked shrimp. After waiting for five minutes (no big deal), she asked me for nearly 11 bucks (udon plus a can of soda). I was a little flabbergasted at the price, but if it's good, it's worth it, right? What I got was the opposite. A container of bright yellow chicken broth with some wheat noodle that looked like fettucini. Floating atop the broth were a few undercooked broccoli stalks and a handful of what seemed to be Costco frozen shrimp. It was bland, the noodles were soggy, and the portion was so small that I would have been pissed if I had actually wanted to finish it. Do yourself a favor--the Hot Wok at the Red Hill Shopping center makes a delicious wonton soup--full of bok choy, fat wontons, barbecued pork and tasty broth. You can get a big container of this deliciousness for less than six bucks. Edo wishes it could make a soup this good.
Oh my gosh! We have been looking for a new sushi place in Marin since Sushi to Dai For got too big for its britches and started sucking the giant pickle. Sakura is great. Nice portions, even nicer owners, fresh fish and a very peaceful atmosphere. Love this place and can't wait to go back.
This school is great for a certain kind of kid. Namely a reasonably quiet, compliant, non-energetic one. For those of us with kids that don't fit this mold it's not great. The kids spend tons of time inside, and the environment, though cute and very clean, is very just-so and doesn't leave any room for active kids who might want to move around a little more. The structure is quite rigid, probably expected in a Catholic preschool, and some of the expectations placed on kids verge on being non-age-appropriate. Though many of the staff are kind and skilled, they have some trouble dealing with more boisterous children, particularly those of the male variety.
Stayed here for a three-day conference last week. Place sucked pretty badly-I was surprised because Hyatts are usually pretty nice. I arrived in the evening, and they sent me first to a room on the side of the building. It was so poorly lit back there that it was scary. I returned to the front desk and had them move me upstairs. My room reeked of mold/mildew and the wallpaper and fixtures looked well-worn. This hotel gouges you for everything, especially wifi and parking. The restaurants (Swim and Red Marlin) were incredibly overpriced with skimpy portions. This place is a complete ripoff. I would never stay here on my own dime. I had to wash all the clothes I brought (whether I wore them or not) when I got home because everything reeked of mildew. I'm still congested two days after getting home. Echhhh.
This place is over-the-top wonderful. Food is delicious-wholesome and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere is great. We showed up with the kiddos and the wait staff were super pleasant with all of us. We did not leave a scrap of food, even the five-year old. Also appreciated the fact that the place was spotlessly clean, even the bathrooms. No sticky tables here. I hope this place thrives, because I want to come back many times.
Beware. We used to eat here on a weekly basis. It's a little funky but the staff are nice and the food decent. And then we came in one day to eat our usual lunch of spring rolls and pho and got sick. Both my companion and I were hit with the runs within an hour of leaving Saigon Village. We get our Vietnamese food at Pho Vietnam now. Try it-food is much better and the place doesn't smell funny like Saigon Village.
We're very happy with the job that Marin Door Pros did on our garage door yesterday. One of the springs had broken, and the door wouldn't open at all, trapping our car inside. I called Northgate, because I have heard great things about them, but they weren't able to give me an appointment for over a week. So I called Marin Door Pros and they were able to get someone out right away. The guy who came was exceedingly polite, stuck to his estimate, didn't try to "upsell" me in any way, and replaced the springs post-haste. I'm glad to have discovered this company, and won't hesitate to use them again.
Below-average food at above-average prices--I won't return. I got their Friday special, a seafood soup. Portion was tiny, and the broth was very salty and had a slightly unpleasant taste. There were two giant shrimp-heads in my bowl, at least I think that's what they were. They had these super long tentacles attached and eyeballs and all that and they apparently were just for show, because they were hollowed out. Disgusting. Bread was ok but the aoli on them was utterly tasteless. Service was super slow, and the waitress annoyingly tried to upsell us constantly. Guacamole was great, though....
Lee's did a fantastic job on the floors in our new-to-us house. They patched a few horribly stained spots, sanded about 1300 square feet of oak flooring, and finished them to my exact specifications. They worked quickly and efficiently and their prices are freakin' fantastic. Wish I could give them 20 stars!
