Went here on a Sunday afternoon in the fall, only one other table was full, we waited and waited 30 minutes to get a hamburger and salad, as promised they had the biggest hamburger in Delaware and for $12 it had better, the food was above average and th service was below average for the prices paid,
We got seated right away, the buffet was clean and organized, while the seafood was great in every way, the meats, ( meatloaf, brisket, pork) were below average, but if you stick to the seafood you will have a great experience, I will check out other buffets in the area before I return.
Paid $79 for a 2 bed room, the room was great, nicely remodeled, plenty if lights and plug ins, refrigerator and 37" flat screen, the beds could have been better you rolled off them, but for the price you can't go wrong, no continental breakfast, no blow dryer or no in room coffee if you need those go down the street and pay $30 more.
We go to Grotto pizza when ever we go to the beach and since we were in the area we thought we would eat here, first the interior reminded me of a Denny's in the 1980's, my wife ordered a boli and a caesar salad which she thought was both good, I ordered mild wings which were great. Also ordered a 8" personal pepperoni pizza, which came with 4 pieces of pepperoni and tons of sauce, it was a GROSS any boxed pizza would have been better. The waitress had no personality and her attitude came through when after 2 bites I sent the pizza back, we worse part of the experience is when we now do go to the beach and when grotto pizza is mentioned I am only going to think about a terrible pizza I had here.
Fixed my daughters laptop in record time , I cannot complain, the store is clean And well stocked not with just computers, but all type of electronics, if your a tetchy this place is for you.
I walked up to the counter the man making a pizza blurted out welcome, I had a few questions, and this guy was so RUDE, I put down the menu and walked out, the guy was almost bald with blonde hair in his 50's, I will NEVER return and will tell everyone I know not to go here, all I wanted was a pizza to go, what a ASS.
Came in for lunch, there was only one server working, I asked for a mixed drink that was on special, we waited and waited, the server had to be the server and the bartender, she had to go ask someone In the kitchen how to mix the drink, waiting and waiting.
The customer behind us payed in cash and there was no money in the cash drawer, we waited and waited,
I commend the waitress, she worked her butt off. We could see her frustration.
We asked if this was normal and she hesitantly said yes it's getting to be since the bartender was made a manager, and that day her and another waitress were off at the local tanning salon.
If your a hardcore BBQ fan this is not your place, the food is good and its on the lighter side.
In my opinion:
The owners need to get a grasp on their manager.
The owners need to make sure the staff is actually on the job.
They need a daytime bartender and not the manager If they want anyone to take them serious.
Will I return?????? Maybe in time once the burn of waiting for an for lunch and a drink wears off.
We went here to look and possibly buy a 2010 Chrysler 300, they advertised the retail KBB price (which was higher than my KBB listed but regardless) it was on sale for $1500 less, or a hairless than the fair purchase price. My trade in is a 2003 Cadillac CTS with only 58,000 miles and is garaged all the time, my wife drives it 3 miles to and from work, it's immaculate. We asked to look at their car, it had dust all over it, cob webs on the doors, it needed a lot of detailing, and needed to be discounted some more, while we test drove it, they looked at our car.
We met in the office to run numbers, our used car salesman was Don, he seemed nice enough, until the insults started to happen.
The first thing he says is your car is excellent, but we are only going to give you less than KBB lowest amount listed for a trade in, so I listened to him speel his numbers, then I started writing down my numbers, if they are going to get almost full KBB I am going to get full KBB for my car considering in his opinion it's excellent, when he didn't like my numbers, we asked for a lower number on his dirty car, he said they have had this car for a long time and it is down to a low price. And showed us that the car is on their auction dealer only site and if a dealer places a bid close to cost they would sell it but they would NOT lower the price for us, so they would rather sell the car to competition than make a customer happy.
Their car did not pass inspection when they bought it, we know this because we were shown the inspection and work performed sheet, so we know the previous owner didn't get a good offer in his car , so just looking at those numbers, we knew Sutliff was making approx. $3000 in gross profits. We got up and left, Don called the next day, with no better numbers. After being insulted on my car and then being told they would rather sell to another dealer. I think Sutliff forgets that it's a big decision in ones life and we take decision seriously, we got treated like idiots, we went down the street to Manheim car kings, while we haven't purchased a car from them, they are friendly, enthusiastic about their jobs, and we will wait for them to get a car in to our liking. By the way every time we have been at Manheim car kings they were super busy, which tells you something, Sutliff isn't.
I have had great experiences at smoky bones in the past, this time not so great, ordered a 1lb hamburger and paid a buck for frys, we were warned that a well done hamburger would take longer to cook, no problem, so we waited and when we started to eat the hamburgers they were cooked medium, and for 99. Cents I got 18 small frys, the manager took care of the problems by give us free desserts but wish it had come to that, but I love the food here, things happen
