This course is very close to my house and I would so very much like to make it my "home course." But................
Teed off at 9:00 this morning on the North Course. At 9:48, after playing 2 holes I decided I had enough. Walked on to the 3rd tee box to see three groups on the hole. I've played plenty of 5 hour rounds of golf and although they're frustrating, you just have to accept it for what it is, weekend golf on a public course on a sunny day. 6+hour round of golf.....unacceptable. I turned my cart in and the check in guy told me to ask the pro shop if I can get a credit for a replay another day. I walked into the clubhouse and told and the guy behind the counter that I was on pace for a 6+ hour round and asked if there was anything he could do. "My job is to get people out on the course," he said. I told him that I felt it was unacceptable that so many people were out there and he told me "it's busy out there." Didn't really seem to care.
So I talked to the starter and he said to check with the pro shop to see if they could get me a credit. Obviously that wasn't going to happen. So here I am writing this review on yelp and will never play Admiral Baker again. Maybe things are better here during the middle of the week but you should at least know that the employees really don't care about the guests. I calmly told 3 people I would not be back and nobody apologized or seemed to care. Plenty of golf courses in San Diego everybody, I recommend playing somewhere else.
Although it's located in a strip mall, once you set foot indoors you'll feel miles away from the hustle & bustle of your potentially stressful outside life. The facilities are super clean and inviting. The men's room has lockers and a shower if you want to try to get in before work or on your lunch break. Most impressive is the staff. I've taken classes from Tiffany, Meagan and Trevor and each has delivered something unique and made me go home feeling better than when I came in.
Delicious sandwiches, great beer and wine selection. They pretty much have one of everything there. From El Indio tortilla chips to Julian apple pies. Great little neighborhood market, feels like family.
Went The Joint for tapas the other day. Our server was super friendly and the food was pretty good, but not great. At the end of the day, I felt like it was a bit overpriced. Maybe if they come up with some specials I'll back, but I don't think I'll pay full price again...
These guys are top-shelf. Dr. Moshe is awesome. They have a great assortment of sunglasses and eyeglasses. I've bought 3 pair of sunglasses and one pair of eyeglasses so far....I will be back again next year for another. Abraham provides excellent service if you're shades need to be adjusted or are missing a screw. This is how businesses should be run!!!!
At this point, what more can I say except that all the negative reviews are true. This place is a total scam. They obviously have a few landlords that are legit, otherwise they'd be shut down by now. DO NOT FALL FOR THE "COME ON INTO OUR ARJONS OFFICE AND CHECK OUT ALL THE RENTALS BIT." I feel sheepish that I fell for it...I'm new to yelp, or I would have never signed up for the service. Now I'm out $98. Looking forward to using yelp next time before I get into a mess like this again.
Congrats to all those who have logged in before going into the office!!!!
If you feel you've been scammed online, go to the internet fraud complaint website: ic3.gov/default.aspx and file a complaint......or call Turko. The more calls Turko gets the better chance of exposing such a scam.
Delicious Tom Kha soup! The spicy noodles were terrific as well. I'm a meat eater, but I always order vegetarian to get all the great veggies they serve. The employees are friendly, but not always the quickest. But this is OB, so you have to get used to that.
