Only the produce offers any sort of value... the rest of the items are no bargain. And every time I go I continue to find produce with labels that does not match the posted country of origin. Makes you wonder whether their meat/cheese/deli/everything is what it is listed as. With all the business they get they should be able to take care of this.
Had an italian sub here recently. Not the biggest large sub, but not bad for 5.75. I also admire the giant 2'x2' no lettuce sign. Its wonderful that a business is taking a stand against this scourge. I wish they were open for dinner, but business must be good enough that they don't have to... they've been open forever, so they must be doing something right.
As another reviewer mentioned, they are under new management. I am a fan of their thin crust pizza and their parm and steak subs. High quality ingrediants, okay portion sizes, but sometimes the service is a little slow.
I went back and had Pad Thai and one of the soups (glass noodle?). They were pretty good, so at least some things on the menu are worth a trip.
I have had Chipotle burritos about a dozen other times around the country, so I was quite surprised with my most recent visit to this new location.
For well over 7 dollars, I got a burrito made with bland ingredients, dry rice, and flies flying over it as it was made. It was the worst burrito that I can recall.
Drive to other area burrito places like Anna's, El Palon, or even Tango Mango (which is hit or miss) if you want a decent meal.
I was excited for this location, but severely let down. If not for friendly service, this would have been a one star burrito.
This place is a total ripoff. The selection isn't great either. Sure, it is nicer than Ricci's, but I don't go for the ambiance. I am in the place for less than two minutes and out with my liquor. Their food selection must be their only selling point, though the people there do seem friendly.
Great selection, but you certainly pay for it.
The staff also has fascist tendencies. Nevermind the ID horror stories that others have mention. I had my bag searched after going to the store one night. I was the only one in there at the time, and I went straight to what I wanted and was at the register in 30 seconds. Despite the fact that everyone probably watched me the whole time, they still demanded that I open my bag and prove that I didn't steal anything.
I won't be going back. The folks at Gordon's are much nicer and the booze is cheaper.
This place is getting killed in the reviews! Sure, some of the staff is a little odd and some of the bottles on the shelf are dusty. There are also a fair number of lottery customers who clog the checkout, but the store is quick to open another register if another employee is available.
The prices are much better than nearby Vaheys in my experience. In fact, Gordon's is the only place in Watertown that seems to have consistently better prices than Ricci's.
I don't drink wine so I cannot comment on its availability here. But for a reasonable price on common liquor or for beer that isn't too obscure, Ricci's is worth the trip.
