Place hasn't changed in 20 years, and I sort of like it that way. I used to stop by here after runs at Discovery Park, but nowadays, I'm not in this part of town very often. But I was happy to see that it was still around. You won't find single origin beans with a story, but you will get a strong cup of joe and espresso that tastes like early Seattle :). The place was fairly empty on a recent Saturday afternoon, and it was the perfect spot to kick back in a quiet space. There is also an outdoor patio as well. Would love to come back soon in the near future and also visit their neighbor, fiddlehead brewing!

Paik's Noodle is a chain that recently opened up in Bellevue serving Korean-style Chinese food. Had a chance to try both the Jjajangmyeon and Jjampong, and it's probably the best version in the Seattle area at the moment (there are places that are better but in Vancouver). There are numerous variations of the noodle dishes, but I stuck with the basics. The jjajangmyeon was nice - not too oily or heavy and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The jjampong was definitely on the spicy time, but a little light on seafood but the prices were reasonable so perhaps that was a limitation. Didn't have a chance to try any of the fried stuff, but like the fact that they had smaller portions at lower prices. The places gets packed and busy and there's always a wait. But the line moves quickly and so does the food.

Harborview is definitely one of the nicer Chinese restaurants in town, and seats near the window or on the patio will have a nice view of the Ferry Building and Embarcadero. The place is massive and so is the menu. There is a section for dim sum but also a collection of greatest hits. The main reason why we stopped by was for the chili crab. During our 4 years in Singapore, we ate our fair share of chili crabs. The version at Harborview was a bit different - less spicy, a little sweeter, but still very tasty. Other dishes were a mix. The char siu was so so but the wontons in chili oil was a sleeper hit. Service was all over the spot and it didn't seem like we had a dedicated server, but overall decent. Definitely a good choice especially in this part of town.

When most of your menu revolves around a single type of dish, it better be good, and Tenkatori Mirimar serves an exemplary version of karaage or Japanese fried chicken. The way they prepare the dish here results in a crispy fried layer, moist meat, even with chicken breast meat, and not greasy at all. I had the chicken breast bento, which included rice, shredded cabbage, and a small scoop of potato salad. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the flavor was very natural, although some might find it a bit light. But that can be addressed with one of their sauces for a buck or buck fifty more. I tried the sweet and spicy, and while I was expecting something like teriyaki sauce, their version is infinitely better. The place feels like small, family run diner an the couple who runs the place were awesome. Next time I will try the traditional version with thigh meat and another sauce!

Chicken breast bento. Even with breast meat, so juicy and succulent.

Cho Dang Tofu specializes in Korean soonbdubu, and it's busy for good reason as the food is decent and the space is clean, bright and inviting. The soondubu itself is good but there was no egg. They have a no spice version which I actually like though. Pricing though is a bit high, with a standard tofu being almost $20 and $40 if you add a side of Kalbi. Banchan quality is good but the selection is pretty meager. But the cleanliness and efficient service are both good draws, and I would probably come back.
