A neighborhood gem in a classy but casual environment. Causal doesn't mean sacrificing quality. (Though it may mean sacrificing the pretense). Here at Nara the quality of sushi is excellent and at prices that don't make you question your judgment. Highly recommend looking at the daily specials or the omakase choices. I haven't tried their rolls but I have a personal bias to not order rolls very often since i really want to experience the fish as the central focus. Nara satisfies in that respect very well as shown by their attention to detail in preparing and presenting. Staff is very friendly, helpful, attentive, and welcoming. Great place to come as a group, a couple, or solo.

Wonderful neighborhood place tucked away on lovely Cortland avenue. Moonlight cafe is low on frills and big on heart. They treat everyone like their best customer, serving a variety of breakfast and lunch options so that there's something for everyone. A place where friends meet up young and young at heart. And families and bring their kids to be treated like little princesses and princes.

Sadly games are off and unavailable, but the good news is the kitchen and bar is open. Outdoor seating is plentiful, as is now indoors. Temperature taken at the door, staff are beautifully masked up, and patrons, well, they are trying their best.

Was pleasantly surprised by how good the Ponzu Slaw with Chicken is. Nicely balanced flavors and textures, big enough to share, and leaves you feeling like you ate something healthy.

There are a selection of rice plates, bulgogi burgers, lumpia, loco moco (how cool is that?), but, have to say, the big surprise were the okonomiyaki tater tots. I was very skeptical at first, but first taste put doubts aside.

Amasia is a hidden gem. Authentic Japanese sushi. Always fresh, always delicious. I love the sashimi, but there are rolls, and nigiri as well. For a good deal, the chirashi don can't be beat. Inside (which is closed for now due to pandemic), it's cozy, simple, but full of character. Wonderful staff, friendly and welcoming.

The menu is online, and it's smaller than their usual. It's low tech, so just call to order. Pay when you pick up. It's very simple.

I would highly recommend picking up a bottle of sake, which they sell by the bottle for reasonable prices. Picking sake can be hard, but the good thing is that their selection is good, and you can't go wrong. Two I recommend are: Suijin, and Okunomatsu. Both on the drier end, delicious served chilled. There's also a nigori sake, cloudy and sweet, it makes for a good dessert wine. (remember to shake before serving)

I look forward to when things go back to normal. They have a ceviche that is phenomenal.
