Pretty good street ramen for the price and the best option in Davis. Their ramen lack authentic Japanese chashu and marinated eggs, but make up for it with killer broth. Noodle quality is below average, but only slightly. Bonus points, the portions are above average.
Wins on price not on quality. This self proclaimed ramen restaurant produces extremely average ramen. Its not like they don't have good examples to follow in San Jose and San Francisco. Hell even Sacramento's white man ramen tastes better than this. This uninspiring bowl of ramen tasted like they got it from the noodle isle at Ranch 99. Do they even have a real chef or are there children pretending to be chefs in the kitchen. On second thought, I made better ramen when I was 8 years old. No thanks, I'd rather go to McDonalds instead. They don't promise much but at least they never under deliver.
Let's face it, if you were really interested in good japanese sushi, you'd be eating at one of other japanese restaurants in Sac. If you come to Bento, you're looking for a place that gets you filled up. That's the kind of place Bento Box is. Cheap, filling food and lots of slightly discounted booze. Frankly, I think they'd be better served as an irish or british themed pub, but oh well, what do I know about running restaurants? If you are considering coming here for the japanese cusine, here's the answer to your question. Yes, the japanese food here is fucking awful. It's japanese sushi made by chinese people that would rather be making chinese food instead. It lacks refinement and passion. Clearly, the chefs here already stopped giving a shit. They're probably looking for another job given the fact that Bento's future isn't looking so bright.
I don't get what's so special about a burger where you have to eat through a ring of cheese just to get to your mainstay. Sounds freaking ridiculous. Also, this is cafeteria-grade burger. If you want a real burger go to Dad's on J or Burgers and Brew. I would go to this spot more often if they replaced it with a McDonalds. Skip.
The food here is pretty good. It's not amazing mediterranean food because the quality is merely cafeteria-grade, but for the price, what more can you expect? Plus, you're usually shitfaced when you're eating here so its not like you'd care. Definitely gets the job done.
I think the airport is well designed and integration with BART is a great feature. Pro tip: use BART's long term parking, its alot cheaper than leaving your car with one of the usual parking service providers around SFO.
The pho here was pretty fresh and awesome. It's not as good as the best places in San Jose, but it's the best anyone can reasonably expect for Sacramento. It exceeds San Francisco quality and I give it two thumbs up.
