My husband and I just moved to the area and stopped in here frequently while we were building our home in town. The staff at Ferns are so friendly! Im not understanding the negative reviews?! I appreciate the local feel of this town center gem and will continue to frequent them when i need to run out for some cream or Im craving a bikini panini or... their chili (which is great!).
My sister gave me her old gift card which had about 60 dollars on it. I can see why she still had a balance on it (after 3 kids of her own!).
I will say the service is great and the store very warm and inviting but this review is for the clothes only. I'm 15 weeks and am starting to need maternity clothes. the store is split up into the insanely overpriced maternity in the front and the sale/cheap ill-fitting stuff in the back.
I don't think I'm "large" my any means but trying on the clothing (in a LARGE) made me feel enormous; the arms and chest of all the clothing were cut so small and there was barely any belly room. I would only get a few uses out of the clothing before they would also become too tight. Again, I have a tiny bump. This store is not for me, but I do appreciate the free pre-natal yoga classes!
If you're looking for great maternity clothes, try LOFT. The pants fit just right and are normal-sized! They are almost always running a 40% off sale as well. Who wants to spend a lot of money on maternity clothes?
My husband and I stayed here over the weekend. We normally stay at The Tides Beach Club, but wanted to try something different. This place was a solid 3.5 star. I would agree with everyone else, the outside is a little run down, but the rooms are comfortable and well appointed.
The shining star of this place was Ruby, front desk extraordinaire. Seriously. We arrived with bikes with basically no idea where to ride, but wanted a nice, intermediate ride. She did the research for us and came back with stapled printouts of various routes. We had all sorts of other questions and she was always patient and helpful. (re: give that girl a raise!)
We probably wouldn't stay here again. The reason being is that the beach is much nicer in front of Tides (and doesn't smell :/ ) and we don't need a permit to use the beach while staying there.
Decent place, but this review was for Ruby anyway. You rock, Ruby.
I can't find a better massage therapist.
Believe me, I tried after I moved away from Lexington. It's like finding the perfect pair of jeans, not an easy task.
After telling my husband sometime back in the summer that she was by far my absolute most-favoritist MT, he got me a gift certificate on the sly. It took me a really long time to use it (I used it last night) and this morning my trapezoids did a happy dance.
There are many new shop additions to Lexington Center but I'm happy to know that Absolute Tranquility is still there.
Ordered a cake from here for my family Christmas party and it was a big hit. I ordered the chocolate cake with strawberries. It was totally spongey and fresh. I will definitely be ordering from here again.
People should know that it is cash only - perhaps that will change in the future?
I hope this little gem sticks around for a while.
This place is unbelievable. My husband and I stayed at The Tides Beach club (also great!) for the second time last weekend. Hidden Pond is the sister resort to The Tides and you have access to their pools when staying at the Tides. When we checked out the resort we decided to have dinner at Earth. GOOD choice.
Walking onto the premises, you feel like you've just walked onto a set for an Architectural Digest photoshoot. With every step, it just gets better. The interior is very rustic, with a fireplace and a hanging tree from the ceiling strung with lights. It's just so beautiful. Even in October, the bar scene was pretty happenin' but mostly there were just diners. My meal was perfection, the gnocchi was exceptional. I can't wait to go back.
This place was nasty. Whoever said it was delicious must be blind and have no taste buds. I went here because we were in town for a wedding, I "yelped" diners in the area and this one got nearly FIVE stars...... Really?
It's in a sketchy area and the place just looks... Dirty. The food was 'meh'. I love diners and have been to many. I want my calories back from this place.
I went here to look for bridesmaid dresses with my two sisters - (who both have THREE kids, it was also IN A SNOWSTORM) It's pretty hard to gather all of us in one room being that they are busy moms. With that being said, we went to Christina's because both of my sisters went here for their bridal gowns as well as bridesmaid gowns when they were married!
I guess things have changed.
A woman called me earlier that morning to confirm my appointment, yet when I showed up, the woman at the desk had no idea who I was. When I told her my name and asked if my two sisters were here she said no.
I went downstairs to start my search only to find my two sisters there already searching! WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE STORE. There were also a gaggle of workers everywhere but clearly too busy to greet, help or pull dresses for us. They were very good at staring at us and scolding my sisters children though.
I went in specifically to buy Amsale dresses for my girls and they are not cheap- I will NOT be purchasing from Christina's because of the horrible service we were given. I told the owner as much and she gave me a half-hearted apology and went on her merry way, I guess she was in a rush to teach her staff how to give attitude. She clearly doesn't need the business! I can't believe this place still runs with this kind of service.
I called FOUR times to make a bridal consultation appointment.
I spoke to a very nice woman the first time, i'm assuming it was the owner and she promptly sent out information to my e-mail. I call back to set up a trial, leave a message with someone else and never hear back.
My second call, I spoke with a really rude person, told me she would relay my message, I assume she did not since I again.. did not hear back.
On the third attempt I spoke with a nice woman who took my information down AGAIN, and said she would relay my message. I guess she didn't because (all together now..) never heard back..
I just called again and spoke with someone to set up a trial, she had no idea who I was. She took down all of my information AGAIN and told me someone would be calling me today. I'm not holding my breath.
Tabatha - where are you? This place is silly.
