Great service. Loved the atmosphere & decor here. A piece of tumbleweed rolled by our table from the open patio. It was awesome. Gave the restaurant a sense of authenticity. The food was good, but I was missing the sauce on my burger. It was seasoned well & moist so I didn't complain. Large selection at the Bloody Mary bar. We had a great time & would absolutely return.
Terrible service, unfriendly staff.
I wrote a fair review about this business month ago. After communication from Herman B. after my last review, I thought it warranted an update.
"So you rated the business poorly because the insects were a problem at an outdoor venue? or were you rating your skillls as a parent for forgetting bug spray?"
I'm not sure if he's affiliated with the restaurant as an owner, manager, staff, or just a huge fan, but I had communication from a fellow yelper that he also responded to them in a similar manner. His response to the reviews reflect exactly the unfriendliness & attitude we experienced from the staff during our dinner. I could've overlooked the experience & given them another shot, but now, after this, I won't return.
The worst Steak & Shake location ever. I've tried this place twice. Service was terrible during a seated meal so the next time I tried the drive thru. Service is slow, even there & I was the only car there. And my order was wrong. I caught it & corrected it. And that the supposedly corrected order was messed up. It was nothing complicated... A number 1, no tomato, 2 orders of chicken tenders, and and 2 kids vanilla shakes. The food was gross. My kids refused the chicken fingers, after 1 bite. They tasted spoiled or bitter. Severely disappointed with the shake. Underwhelmed. And the fries were hands down the worst I've had in my life. They were unedible. Cold, stale, and made me gag. Two chances was too many. Won't return
Great views, rewarding experience. I'm glad we stumbled on all the great reviews or wouldn't have known such a place existed during our trip. We took the kids. The youngest sat in a hiking backpack. Our oldest found it rewarding to conquer the challenges with us... She's extremely agile, athletic, & hikes with us often. The trail isn't advised for novice or youngsters. But the views are glorious. The bikers can't get to everything but annoyed us... Not the experienced ones who ring a bell, or let you know they are on your left, but the ones who borrow the bike & graze you over while screaming "EX-C-USE me" as they pass by when you had no idea they were there until they clipped you. With the exception of those few, we had a spectacular & memorable experience.
Excellent experience. Tylia was spectacular & offered nothing short of perfect, friendly, prompt, and friendly service. She was so personable... Actually the entire staff was. Great music, decent food considering the price (the potatoes are awesome). I hoped for better or closer views of the mall & thought the one area that could be improved is communicating an exit procedure. We were the first table by the door, and lined up accordingly (as we entered through that door & staff exited through the door) with a line forming behind us. There were 6 of us, including one an elderly man who required assistance & 2 small children (2 & 4). We ended up getting separated from each other because when exiting we were told we had to exit through a different door which seemed to cause chaos. Getting separated was inconvenient but more importantly nerve-racking. I was unsure if my spouse had my 2 year old and if someone was helping my father-in-law who has balance and orientation issues. They were both so far in front of me that I couldn't see them, but luckily everything turned out. I just recommend announcing an exit strategy, otherwise, fantastic experience,
Loved it! Offered something that peaked everyone's interest. The human origins exhibit, gems, and special photography exhibits were my favorite. The kids loved the oceanic & wildlife exhibits. The dinosaur exhibit was being renovated which was disappointing, and I had hoped for more interactive exhibits for the kids. We didn't expect a children's museum but thought the kids area could use more imagination & options. Small areas of improvement, but overall enjoyable experience.
It was edible. Simply that. Ordered the 4 cheese melt. Seemed like they went so overboard on the bread that the cheese lost it's way. The loco burrito salad was decent. The ordering process was slightly confusing as a line formed around the soup sampling, but you could walk around to the register to
order. They also happened to be out of some of the soups & we had to wait until they were ready, so getting food took a while. It wasn't an awful experience, but nothing positive enough that I would return.
The option of Mexican or American way was easy, but it wasn't quite as authentic as I had hoped. I love onions, but could I have some carnitas with my onions on my taco? My meal was extremely cheap, which was awesome. I suppose I enjoyed the food, but I wasn't wowed by it. I would neither seek it out nor avoid it in the future, but may stop if I stumbled by on an empty stomach.
Recommended by a local who said they had the best burgers and shakes. Either I had high expectations or DC doesn't have good burgers & locals think these are the best (or maybe GoodStuff just had a bad night). Either way, serious letdown. Ordered the colettis smokehouse burger, and a toasted marshmallow shake. The burger was dry & didn't pack much flavor or originality. The shake everyone raves about, simply tasted like vanilla cream and had a marshmallow tossed on top for presentation. Didn't order fries so I can't comment on those. The positives... The restaurant atmosphere was cool & food was out at a decent speed, but I wouldn't return. Five guys, as simple as it is, is worlds better.
