Best (and only) place to get boba in Humboldt! I can't speak for their sandwiches, but I've had both their taro boba smoothie -- yum! And their mango boba milk tea... Which was the best thing ever. Oh, and when we bought the mango milk tea, he gave us free mochi! Taro and Red Bean... Both delicious, but I thought the red bean was better... Love this place!

Went in on an odd afternoon to be greeted with a cozy atmosphere, helpful staff, and the best lemon frozen yogurt on a homemade waffle cone this side of the bay area. Definitely a must.

Ok, first of all, the whole reputation as a celebrity hotspot worked ten - fifteen years ago. When it was actually trendy. And not just bait for D-List celebs itching for their face in some trash tabloid and tourists misled into thinking that The Ivy is somehow sononymous with the Red Carpet. I admit it -- I was from out of the area, looking for the shameful high of actually spotting a celebrity. Instead, I was faced with a $27 bowl of mediocre caprese pasta-thing that was luke warm. I managed to get a seat on the patio, as I arrived a few minutes before 12:00. But, getting a seat there was no picnic. I asked the maitre'd for a seat on the patio and he literally snickered. He said "are you sure you'd like to sit out there? We've already got a table set in here." Did he think I was an idiot? I just walked into the restaurant, passing 10s of fully set tables on the patio. Anyway, my spot on the patio was sandwiched up against the actual restaurant building and next to some shrilly obnoxious woman clad in Juicy Couture yelling on her cell phone. Parked in valet, since no other parking was to be found, and was given a dirty look when I paid the minimum $10 for valet. You bet your ass I'm only paying $10 -- they didn't even move my car. Yes, after drink, tax, tips, and valet, my lunch was almost $50. And completely unsatisfactory.

What's worse, I headed over to the grove right after, and ran into Amanda Seyfreid. For free. Sometimes I have all the luck.

Well... I have to admit that the contents of this store are quite amazing, and reasonably affordable. It is, however, jam packed with stuff, which can make it difficult to look at things or even move around. The woman who owns it is rather eccentric. She is fairly helpful, but made me feel like I was constantly being watched. Great vintage finds though. So, if you can brave your claustrophobia, head over to Flashback. You'll be sure to find something.

This store is great. Great selection. Kay's got a fantastic vintage hat collection, all of which are in great condition and adorable. She's got a huge amount of cute shoes that wrap all the way around the store, and an amazing collection of vintage furs and jewelry. She has quite a few designer pieces, which are remarkably affordable. She's also got a good selection of general clothing, which are in good condition and reasonable pricing.

This store is amazing. The day we first discovered it, I spent nearly two hours just looking and admiring. Shipwreck is really cute and very well organized. This store features all kinds of things. First, their clothes are amazing. They have a rack of local designers, which are higher in the price range compared to the other vintage clothes, but are cool nonetheless. Among the local designer clothing is also some American Apparel T Shirts. This store's got a great men's section as well, with great shoes, briefcases, coats, ties, and shirts. The women's section is truly vintage, with coats, dresses, shirts, sweaters and pants. The prices are extremely reasonable. There is handmade jewelry as well, like button bib necklaces and flower headbands. There are tons of home accessories, as well as quirky things, like vintage hair driers and aprons. She's got a great selection of wool and knitting products and books and the staff is very knowledgeable. They also a selection of fresh cut flowers, which are so charming. In a word, this store is fabulous. If you go to Old Town, this is a must stop shop.
