I came to see Dr. Yu for a possible sinus infection. Apparently, it was viral so I just had to wait it out. Dr. Yu was very personable and patient. She explained everything to me in a comprehensive manner. I ended up having my (first) annual physical with her as well. I'm just waiting for my lab work to come back.
Unlike most doctors offices, the wait time was very reasonable here. I would definitely recommend them.
I received a neighborhood flyer for a $29 smog check. My car is due for one, so why not? It was pretty easy to find with my NAV. They quoted me $40 out the door because I still had to pay for the DMV certificate and also tax. They only took about 20min to complete my smog. Not bad! The employees were easy going and the place was no frills.
Dr. Villegas is finally back in Cerritos! Dr. V has been my optometrist ever since he opened Rizal Optique at the Cerritos Towne Center. He treats all his patients with the utmost professionalism. My husband and I have been loyal customers for almost a decade. I've even referred friends to him and they all agree. The entire staff is also kind, patient and helpful.
My son was attending Tutor Time in Cypress and the tuiton was just too high for us, especially since he was only attending 2 full days. He also started showing signs of disinterest after his teacher left, so I decided to take him out of Tutor Time last summer. I found OC Kids which is just the next block over from our house. For less than what I was paying at Tutor Time, my son is atteding 3 full days at OC Kids. Of course price shouldn't be a big factor when it comes to my son's education. What makes a great school is the teachers. I'd have to say, I really like Mrs. Rothman and Ms. Laura, and so does my son.
It's a small facility but these preschoolers don't need that much. It's fairly clean and organized, and that's sufficient for me. What matters most is that my son really enjoys going to preschool. He's made a few good friends and that was one of my main goals. I wanted him to have friends to enter Kindergarten at Landell in the fall.
They offer a lunch program too, in conjunction with the Cypress School District. I haven't had any issues with the school, teachers or students. We even met a family who lived in our neighborhood, that also sends their daughter there. And guess what? I even found out a Yelp friend of mine sends his daughter there too! Recently, someone from our church just enrolled their son as well! Small world.
I would definitely recommend OC Kids. The teachers are very caring and really love all the students.
I live in Cypress and decided to sign up for some community classes for my daughter and myself. Cypress is linked with La Palma & Buena Park.
I've been coming here for a few months now for the mommy & me class on Friday mornings from 9:30-10:30am. I really like the teacher, Ms. Mabelle. Although it's only an hour long, I think it's the perfect amount of time for my 2yr old daughter. She really enjoys coming and the activities that we do here. I also started attending a Photography 101 class Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30pm.
The building is pretty old and run-down but I guess it'll suffice for what we are doing here. It's not about the classroom but rather what we are learning or getting from the actual class and instructors.
I'm really happy to see they opened a WHBM at Cerritos. I used to go all the way to their Long Beach or Anaheim location. I really like the styles. Their pieces are classic and sophisticated. However, I only shop the sale racks cuz I never pay full price.
I purchased a Groupon special a while back and decided to use it this past weekend. It was $99 for a 4hr rental of a Texas Hold'em table & dealer. Mike showed up 1.5hr before the rental period (6-10pm). He set up the table, (which looked great!), left and came back at 6pm. I felt like I was in Vegas, but it was my living room.
Mike was very professional. He was dressed like a Vegas dealer and super nice. Although we didn't start playing 'til almost 7:30pm (everyone was running late), he offered to stay later. My husband was so impressed, he paid him an extra $100 for his time. Overall, it was a great experience. I'd definitely recommend Real Deal for all your poker party needs.
I was on my way to the Honda Center for Britney's Femme Fatale concert, when I realized I had left my tickets at home, doh! I looked on my iPhone and found a nearby FedEx so I can use the computer to print them out again.
The are located at the Marriott hotel, across from the Anaheim Hilton. You can just park on the curb, on the right side of the front entrance.
Their computers are super slow. You need to insert a credit card at the computer station and they charge by the minute ($.40/min). There's a little timer so you can see how much is being accumulated. It's nerve-wrecking to watch the timer while the computer is taking so long to load.
The end result, I printed my tickets and got to watch Britney. So I guess it wasn't too bad after all..
When it was time for me to choose a daycare for my 2.5yr old toddler, I was debating between Tutor Time and Kindercare. Upon visiting both schools, I found that Tutor Time's facility was definitely cleaner, more organized and offer a better curriculum. I wanted to enroll my son part-time (2 days per wk), and it just so happened that I was lucky enough to take advantage of a "3 free weeks" promotion they were offering. It was such a good offer, I even enrolled my 8mo old infant!
The teachers in both classrooms were great. Even though my kids were unhappy when they were dropped off in the mornings (separation anxiety), they were always happy when I picked them up in the afternoon. I ended up enrolling both my kids part-time after the 3 free week trial. So far, it's been 3 months and they really enjoy it.
I think I've found a new yakitori joint to compare Honda Ya with.. They had me at 'grilled foie gras yakitori'! Everything was delicious and trust me, we ordered a lot!
The only disappointment was the Creme Suzette dessert. The orange peels were too overpowering. But the meringue dessert made up for it.
Service was excellent. My water was never empty. They have certain Wed & Thurs specials so I guess it might be a little different on other days. I'll just have to come back often to see what other specials they offer!!
