This small store has some neat watches such as your classics (Timex, Seiko) to your asian inspired Nooka Type gear. High end to low end they got it. Some slick ass pocket watches that I'm debating to purchase...we shall see....
They also do repairs and replace watch batteries for $5 in minutes! The two cats that run this place are always nice and competent.
I've hit this place up a few times. Cheap stiff drinks every time!!! Cheers to that!!!! ! It's got an odd mix of people. You got a few suit and tie guys and then some local Warren blue collar trash all hanging out. Whites, blacks - it's all good. It's def a dive bar but for whatever reason they keep the place well lit inside, no dimmed lights. Weird. The bar tenders are pretty kick ass. They hand you the remote and tell you to put whatever the hell you want on TV. NICE!!!! Mixed drinks were $3 and $1.50 beer specials. No food but they do have booths if you come with a bigger crowd. Pool tables, darts, video games are also available. They do take credit cards!!!!
I dig this place. The name of it is a little deceptive. First off, they don't have a grill. Secondly, they don't have much food. If you want pizza, you have it delivered. What you DO get is a white, cinder block, dive bar. They have some video games, a pool table, and a bad juke box. i've been here a few times and have never seen more than 5 patrons at a time. My sell, of course is the cheap ass booze! My vodka and diets here are only $2.50. Woop! Can't beat that with a bag of dicks!
This bar is fun!!!! You open the door and see a phone booth except the phone has been ripped out for obvious reasons. Turn to left and you walk into 2 pool tables and a haze of smoke. Make your way to the bar and you'll notice a bunch of burley old men with yellowish white beards hanging out. It's not really a bike bar but just a dumpy, blue collar bar. Douche bags take note: this place isn't for you, you'll get your ass beat. Hipsters: please don't start coming here and ruin this place with your foolishness. They have good specials on beer and liquor....75 cent Red Dogs and my standard jack and coke was $3. They do have food so if you're hungry they got you covered. Seating is fairly limited so I wouldn't come here with a big group. Some other pluses: digital juke box, tv's with animal planet on, and an old school cigarette machine. Cash only my friends! They do have an ATM though in case you forget!
Fresh Approach is a small grocery store in the neighborhood just east of downtown Royal Oak. They have all your quick convenience goods that you need and more. Alright, let's break down the departments....you got produce (yep, they have some organic), dairy, meat/seafood, frozen, and all your boxed process crap that you'd want. I can't forget they have a great selection of cold beer. In the Summer they have a ton of flowers and hanging baskets to make your house look pretty.
i dig this place because it's got that mom and pop feel to it which is nice. Yeah, they're going to be higher price than your big box stores but if you live in the neighborhood it's great!
Chocolate Shop vintage is a vintage/used clothing store. I believe it's where Lost and Found used to be....Anyway, I walk in and was greeted by the salesperson who explained they have only been open a month. This place has potential....though I didn't buy anything. The store is broken down to mens stuff on the left and womens on the right. They had all your typical thrift store fare.....hats, shoes, shirts, pants, ties, purses, dresses...bla bla bla. Pricing was average..shirts $10....jackets anywhere from $30-$60 for what I looked at..Again, it wasn't impressive but if you're in downtown RO it's worth stopping by...
Are you into punk rock, hardcore, or metal? Go here. It's nice to get a tat from someone into the same scene. Example, when I wanted some crazy skull and guns tat drawn up being they were into the same music they knew what I wanted and drew it write up.The place is very clean and the staff is friendly. I've been here for a few tats and have been very happy. Prices are fair and you get what you pay for. I always make an appointment but I did see them accept walk ins. Oh the place is upstairs so if you are in a wheelchair you won't make it up the steep steps...
