Happy to have four barrel coffee right around the corner from our place. No seating, to-go orders only.

I was feeling under the weather and thought a good bowl of ramen would do the trick. I headed over after the lunch rush around 2:30. Five minutes after putting my name on the chalkboard wait list, I was seated at a 6 person communal table. It is an understatement to say the restaurant is crowded, but it is all a part of the exclusive no frills charm.  There is only room for 15-18 patrons at a time so going solo or taking ramen to go is your best bet.

The menu is really simple- you have a choice of either ramen or donburi. Going the ramen route (and to check off something on the Big Eat 2013 list), I went for the spicy miso and took the liberty of adding some chicken dumplings.

The soup was pretty spicy so if you are averse to a little chili, I would skip it and go with regular miso. It was the right amount of spice for me although I could feel it in my mouth hours after the meal. The broth was creamy and the noodles maintained an al dente texture. I also broke up the chicken dumplings to soak up the spicy miso too- so good.

MBC opens at 9 am on the weekends and there is always already a line forming by 9:30. It is a popular spot that we have attempted several times with no success. One morning last month, we happened to be in the area early enough and scored a spot for two with no wait.

I guess I had high expectations for MBC and it ended up falling a bit short. Things I loved: the staff- everyone that works there is personable, friendly and good at what they do; the bacon- just order it and you'll see what I mean. Things that fell short: huevos rancheros- my mind was not as blown as everyone led me up to believe... it was good but not amazing; we felt a bit rushed through the meal- yes there is a long line so I get they need to turnover quickly.

I won't be waiting in line for MBC brunch but will dip in for the bacon again if I get the chance!

Stopped by a week after the grand opening. We sat at the bar and had a tasting each. The chardonnay was really good but the red wines were just okay. The co-owner and staff were all really friendly and the complimentary cheese plate went down well.

A bit pricey- two tastings ($15 each) + bottle of wine ($29). Will come back though for one of their sustainable bottling events.

Great spot for quality lunch. The ingredients are all local, sustainable and the menu is constantly changing with the seasons. A bit pricey for a lunch place, but worth it for the calibre of food.

I would recommend ordering your food to go as there is not much in house seating.

SO impressed with our stay at the Hoxton. The room was a decent size for London and I loved the modern bathroom features. It was a nice change from a lot of past places we had stayed in London. The in room complimentary breakfast was a nice perk and we loved the freshly squeezed OJ.

The overall vibe of the Hoxton was very boutique hotel-like and San Francisco techy. Lots of start ups meeting in the lobby hovering over Apple products and drinking espressos.

The surrounding neighborhood is a nice change from busy tourist central London. I guess it was kind of hipster- lots of art galleries, indie coffee shops and Banksy's work can be found splattered all over. If you have time, head over to Boxpark- an outdoor mall created out of shipping crates... a definite must see.

    Aufgelistet in Wine Country!

We had originally planned to go to the other Del Dotto location but our driver took us here instead.

It is a relatively new winery with an Italian opulent theme. Lots of marble, tall pillars and statues. We were a relatively large group (8 ppl) and were given our own bar and server for the tastings. Although the tastings are more expensive than a lot of surrounding wineries, they offer a lot of complimentary pours and included a cheese and chocolate plate to pair. The wines are also very high quality and original- they pour a 100% cabernet franc which is not very easy to find at a lot of other wineries.

The caves off the main lobby are gorgeous- candlelit and very romantic. Take a glass of wine and stroll along peeking at different barrels aging.

I would stop at Del Dotto first if you are on a wine tour- it is one you want to savor and remember!

Thanks to the community team at Yelp for organizing a great event. The ambiance and service at Split Bread is great which made the experience relaxing. It was nice to catch up with some fellow Elites.

Standouts- the lemonade and potato salad. I had the porchetta sandwich which was good but lacked a little flavor in the meat. I liked the balsamic onions but there were not enough in the sandwich.

SO Good. Came with my sister and future bro-in-law and we ordered a variety of things on the menu. Standouts were the pork belly banh mi and the kimchee fries. The banh-mi sandwiches are on perfect french baguettes and I loved the extra cilantro loaded on. Kimchee fries can be best described as a gourmet asian inspired poutine... totally crave-worthy. The portions are really big so come hungry!

The staff are awesome. We met the owner who spoke to us about the inspiration about the concept (his dad has been making traditional banh mi for 40+ years). Really nice to see small businesses taking a risk and doing well on the Queen Street West.

FYI- If you like hot spice, don't bother on the medium flavour- there is no kick there at all.

Disappointing. Ordered a veggie burrito and it was EXTRA oily. On top of that, I gave the cashier $10.07 for a $6.07 bill and was expecting $4 back. He insisted that I gave him a $5 & $1 bill but I am certain I gave him two $5s. I argued back but then let it go because he was not budging. It's especially disappointing because the burrito was so sub-par.
