I don't know if it is because of the language barrier but it was kind of awkward and the cashier was a little rude. The sushi was fine nothing to rave about, not bad but also not the most amazing sushi I've ever tasted.

It has been a tradition for my friends and I to meet at Aki Tatsu in Bergmannstraße and catch up on our tales of life over platters of sushi and dishes of various Asian cuisines. The price-service balance attracted us as students, and attracts us today as young parents and professionals alike.
Nowhere else have I found such quality sushi for such affordable prices. Although I don't eat sushi anymore due to ethical reasons, I am perfectly satisfied with the options of Thai and Vietnamese dishes at Aki Tatsu. The dishes have a good spice to them - spicier than the average German taste palate, but not unbearable by any means.
As with many Asian dishes, lactose- and gluten- intolerant people can feast here - just be aware of the soy sauce (so far Aki Tatsu does not offer glutenfree soy sauce).
The interior is simple and a bit cramped, but not uncomfortable. It works for families and for down-to-earth dates alike. And you have the option to sit outside and watch the excitement of Bergmannstraße passing by while soaking in the sun.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tobias K.Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg0413. They have good sushi and soups. Prices are also really good.
Only thing they could do better is the design of their restaurant. Tables are really close together so you can't relax and have a nice conversationHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (jiamin…)London, Vereinigtes Königreich1210110. Mai 2012
I'm a little puzzled as to why this place gets such a high rating. Had the tori suimono soup, which was so incredibly salty that I could only manage a couple mouthfuls of soup and just eat the ingredients. I also had the mixed sushi plate of 2 maki and 6 nigiri. Quality of fish was ok, not great, and the rice used was again too salty.
Spent about 18 euro in total, including service charge.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris M.Kreuzberg, Berlin1222. Feb. 2016
They are quick but that's about it. Dull sushi prepared without love. I am usually not writing bad reviews but that one was really significantly under expectation.

We are going to Aki Tatsu a lot and love the sushi and the soups for affordable prices. The atmosphere is nothing special and for a bigger group you would probably have to make a reservation. The service is good but go definitely go there for the sushi!
