This place is a solid 4-stars. Minus one star because I sent back a piece of my meal because the taste wasn't to my liking. Not sure if Indian food isn't prepared the same as I'm used to in the US or what. They did fix the issue right away and compensated me the plate.

The food came out very quickly, the servers were really nice, and the place was jammed packed with people. Overall it was a good place to eat but nothing too memorable.

Pretty good Indian food. The location was crowded late on a Saturday night. I was seated upstairs with new friends I'd met at the hair salon. It was pretty dark upstairs.
The location is very easily accessible in Schöneberg. The food was good and had very large portions. We got a complimentary shot at the end of dinner. They don't split checks if you go in a group.

The samosas were ok, but they were huge. Great accompanying sauces, chutneys and yogurts. This is a good spot for a group or a nice date night.

Had a great dinner here. Malik was an excellent server: attentive, friendly, welcoming. Visiting from the States - taking my nephews on a European excursion, we happened upon Amrit and enjoyed the food and service. I ordered the Garam Shorba (hot and sour soup with spicy lamb) and dal makhani (lentils). Both were delicious. Nephews ordered curry chicken and prawns. They enjoyed it. Moreover, the long island ice tea was on point. Had been a few years since I'd had one, and they met the standard. Would definitely go back. Reccommended. Ask for Malik as your server.

Went to this Amrit @ Winderfeldtplatz in August...Didn't want to like it too much since it is a chain restaurant, but alas, they definitely won me over. I LOVED the food...it was probably some of the best Indian food I have ever had (and trust me..I know my Indian food pretty well).

Sometimes you feel you need to go to a hole-in-the-wall place to get "authentic" ethnic food... some place off the beaten path, less pretentious looking,etc... but that is not the case with Amrit. First of all it is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. Especially nice in the warmer months, when you sit outside...but regardless it's great. Secondly, the prices are awesome, for such great quality food and generous portions.

Yummy lamb saag, curried chicken, rice, naan, bhathura, dipping sauces, cocktails, King Fisher beer (pilsner)... everything we ate/drank that evening rocked from start to finish. I even had leftovers bagged up to take home... so that should indicate a) how good the food was and b)how nice the portions were.

SUGGESTIONS: Why can't I get some good gulab jamun in Berlin, generally?

VERDICT: If you like Indian food and need a good fix, this is the place. Great for families, singles, dates, taking visitors, etc. I'm definitely a fan and will definitely be heading back next time I crave some good Indian food in a nice restaurant....

Important Information: The reviews for this place are divided into happy lunch menu goers and evening diners. During lunch you get a salad, soup, main dish and rice for 5-8 Euros. The same dish costs more than 10 Euros at night without a soup.
As lunch regular I have to say the lunch menu is unbeatable. Amazinh constant quality and very friendly staff. Nice interiour and check out the restrooms with relaxing music :-)

Why only 4 stars? The food can be quite heavy (fatty) sometimes so be careful not to eat the full soup. But the quality is 5 stars.

Only come if you absolutely must have a Curry

It may not be your Birmingham balti or your Glasgow gosht, but the menu will look familiar to all UK curry lovers. Saag, Masala, Tandoori, Naan, Pakora, they're all present, so it's the same but different if you know what I mean?

In the summer eating out is fantastic and Amrit has the perfect location in winterfeldplatz. We took our table for 4 and a kinder amongst a 100 other diners, so hoachin' is the word! Friendly staff helped us along all night and here's another word - flawless.

The food. Poppadoms arrived and they're basically the same as UK, but with buckets of peppercorns in them, woof, spicy! But that was as hot as it got and they weren't too crispy. We ordered mixed pakora (aubergine, paneer, onion), samosas (potato and peas), lamb saag, butter chicken, lamb curry and chicken jalfresi. Accompanied by deep fried sweet bread (which tasted like donuts), paratha and rice. Crickey! You'll get twice as much of everything than you do in The U.K! (I eat alot, but this was way too much!) All tasted good (mainly 6/10, although the saag was over salted 4/10 and the pakora was a bit doughy and tasteless also 4/10), but not as spicy as us Brits are used to and lots of food colouring.

So a pass from me, but I'm sure others will try to compare it unfavourably to The Bradford experience. Come knowing it will be different and you should be fairly happy, but I'd only take the plunge if i absolutely had to have a curry :-/

We were in Berlin on business and this restaurant was across street from our hotel, The Marriott Berlin. We needed a quick lunch before going to a business meeting. The restaurant seemed busy, but we figure we would give it a try. We got the fixed lunch with an entree, rice, salad & naan bread. Our drinks and food came quickly. The food was quite good and the service was great. We wish we had enough time to come back to this restaurant.

The lunch menu is unbeatable! Both, the quantity and the price are very reasonable. Unfortunately they have no Female Waitresses.

Went to Amrit for lunch. Ordered curry lamb and chicken tandoori. The curry lamb was quite good , as for the tandoori , it did not meet my expectation as it was served on a sizzling plate instead of grilling

Das Essen ist viel zu teuer für das, was man bekommt. Mittagstisch ist in Ordnung für die Preise, trotzdem kein richtiges Indisches Essen!!
