I breakfasted here this morning. Service was friendly but not overly so. Quite attentive but maybe that was because I was sitting so close to the counter.
Cakes in the display cabinet looked and smelled Devine. I might come back for one of those.
Probably wouldn't try their scrambled eggs with ham again. Not horrid but not exciting either. The bits of ham were chopped up small.
I can say the freshly squeezed orange juice was Devine and served in a white wine glass which was nice.
The coffee was nice too. What a huge cup!
Finally, lovely decor. Oh, and very gay friendly.
Nice, quirky place but nothing special food wise.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - HF S.Frankfurt am Main, Hessen211094609. Juni 2013

* Food: Just picked a couple of pies there on the go
Looked good (refer to pictures),
home made, a change from the famous places in the street,
& guests appreciated them.
* Location: Another Lange Reihe one you will tell me but wait, it has a backyard!
Good to know if you want a quiet retreat from the busy street
* Staff: The 4th star is because staff flirts outrageously ! Very refreshing and much appreciated ;)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mark C.Hamburg12677016. Juli 2013
I come in every now and then. I like the place. But my opinion of it has somewhat lessened after today. I came in with some visitors from the States--we were the first to order breakfast. That ended up being a bad thing. Our bread must have been the leftovers from the day before. The blackbread was stale, and one of the breadrolls had a big mold spore on it. We only noticed it after we had eaten most of it. Now I'm lying down with such a biting belly ache! The likes of which I only get after eating something bad.
Service was what you would expect from northern Germany: "Service ist ein Fremdwort."
I won't be breakfasting here again.
The coffee was very good though.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liron T.Hamburg1352573424. Aug. 2010
The most interesting thing I find about this cafe is the various assortment of seating options. When you enter, it looks like a cake n' coffee standard. Venture in a bit more and it looks like a bar. Continue further and there's backyard-style outdoor seating.
I had a really nice cappuccino and an okay-ish cheesecake. I prefer US-style cheesecakes (sweet and frothy) as opposed to the European style (spongy and cold), but as far as European cheesecakes go, this one wasn't half bad.
I easily see myself coming back here in the near future since the atmosphere and coffee are both very nice. I'll probably try a different cake, though.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paul J.Hamburg2412822. Apr. 2014
Sit outside if the sun's out. This makes up for most of the plus points. In general a solid cafe and place for breakfast. We had three different breakfast options and all were average. Nothing spectacular but the portions were pretty good and everything seemed fresh. Service was polite but could definitely be a bit more attentive. Maybe it was because we were out front but the whole time were there (and multiple tables were taken) they came out twice or maybe max three times and we had to often wait too long. The Latte macchiattos we all had were also very weak on coffee. If you want strong coffee, you're going to have to ask for double-shots. Again, a fairly solid place but nothing to write home about. Finally, tried to pay with credit card, which was clearly marked as available out front. Supposedly CC machine was broke. Then offered cash-card and that too supposedly didn't work, until another waiter piped in that it was working....this seemed to only piss of the waitress. No idea if they are trying to avoid digital payments to avoid fees but this just always leaves such a sour taste in my mouth when eating somewhere. If you are going to offer payment options, don't try to screw around with them.
