Caramba Especial

Habe mich gegen das Gänge-Menue entschieden und nur eine Hauptspeise gegessen.
Der Chef des Hauses hat mir eine fleischlastige Hauptspeise kredenzt, die aus Rinderfilet und geschmorten Schweinebacken bestand. Dazu Kartoffelstampf und Kartoffelecken. Ein wirkliches Gedicht.
Preis- Leistung absolut gerechtfertigt. Der Service ist überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Fazit: Ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch und in Hamburg und komme gerne wieder.

Food was excellent! No menu to pick from made it very easy. You get meat or fish! 3-4 course meal! More than enough food & everyone looked happy! Nice vibe great music!

Portuguese dishes in Hamburg. This restaurant is within walking distance to the place where the boat we are staying is berthing at the Baumwall. We shared a 3-course meal. It started with the 'gambas' or prawn in garlic, olive oil, and white wine. The second or main was fish with at least 3 kinds of sauces. All absolutely delicious. We were seated outside and it's perfect in a summer evening. Good service too!!

Super fun - especially when we went and there was a three-person band playing live music in Spanish and Portuguese that night!

I lived in Portugal for a few months, and I can attest that the food here is authentic. My mates and I drove from Hannover on a Sunday to visit Neuengamme and see some of Hamburg. I found only a few places that were open on Sundays, but since this one was open and I liked the seafood back in Portugal, I chose this place for us.

The menu is fixed and guests could choose seafood or surf-and-turf. These came in 3-course or 4-course varieties. We chose two of the seafood 4-course meal and one of the surf-and-turf 4-course. The appetizer was prawns brought out in a flaming pan - cooked just right and served with bread and olives. Next was a white fish cutlet with vegetables and a sauce that looked like chimichurri, but tasted a little different.

Between the courses, the server invited us back to the bar where we could look through their selection of spirits. We could choose one drink - on the house! We found a Portuguese almond liquor and took three.

We returned to our table where the next course was three different kinds of fish prepared three different ways plus scallops (or if you ordered surf-and-turf, a piece of rabbit). I ordered the seafood and my favorite was the seared piece of tuna. Both the seafood and the rabbit were served with vegetables and potatoes. We took a little break during this course to be serenaded by the band going from table to table. They played well and the passion for their music made dinner that night all the better!

Dessert was a chocolate cake with fresh fruit and a bottle of honey rum that the server set on the table and said we could drink as much as we liked. Being this generous with liquor and portion sizes means this was not a cheap meal, but it is well worth the price!

Oh, and when we left, the house gave us a free bottle of red wine to-go! Needless to say, if I ever return to Hamburg, I will be back here.

From start to finish this place was memorable. We came in after reading consistently good reviews, but unfortunately we only had about an hour and change to dine and this places dining concept was for you to stay much longer and basically have a seafood feast. We explained our situation to the waiter that we had a reservation for Escape the Room and didn't think it would be good for us to do the unlimited seafood feast...the waiter kindly put together the offer of just giving us a main plate with highlights of the menu. We decided that would be perfect! We got over 5+ types of seafood for only 15 euro/plate! Wow! This was incredible...scallops, cod, tuna, salmon, etc. Seriously delicious! And for them to give us such a great deal was super nice of them since they were accommodating us. The chef came to check in on the tables periodically through the night, taking great pride in his food. On our way out the chef gave each of us a rose...what a nice gesture after all they had already did to cater to us. Really great spot and wish I could have tried the unlimited seafood feast (39 euro). Would recommend to anyone who really wants some great fresh seafood and a change up from much of the sausage and fried meat heavy German cuisine.

I few weeks ago i tried the New Restaurant FRANCO CARAMBA ESPECIAL and i was impressed. AMBIENCE and FOOD was FANSTASTIC!

The Portuguese Quarter is a famous place in Hamburg to go out for dinner and have some Drinks/Wine. It is allways crowded and fun.

This particular Restaurant became my favorite in this Area. They serve high quality mediterranean food. I really liked the HUGE DISPLAY of the fresh Fish in the Restaurant.

We ordered a varity of Tapas as STARTES and grilled Fish for the Main Course. It was delicious. The Food was fresh and very well prepared with Herbs & Spices. Exactly how
Mediterranean Cuisine should be. The Servant recommended us a nice wine that went perfectly with the Food. The Stuff and Servants were very kind and quick.

All in all i can only say we had a great night out with our friends and family. I can only RECOMMEND this place!

Wow! What a phenomenal dining experience. The food was fantastic. The service was impeccable. Super warm and inviting. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Truly a memorable and wonderful dinner. I arrived early before the dinner rush when there were only a few other tables, and it was so impressive to see the staff and the owners provide such a high-energy enthusiastic level of service that in other places is often only reserved for a more full dining room. And such incredibly reasonable prices. I couldn't believe the quality I received for comparatively so little money. Highly highly highly recommended!

Damn, this place is not only good but the food was outstanding. We were spent this direction by the staff at Casa Franco. The owner is a lively host who makes every table feel especial. Seriously worth your time. It's a mystery dinner FYI. That means you sit down and get what you get, which is perfect haha. I am here to drink not think.
