Crowns Club

I know it just as a place to have lunch during the week, have never visited the club.
For lunch, they have a business lunch that is ok. Considering the options you have for lunch in this area, this is one of the best choices. I wish the business lunch menus would be a bit healthier, but that's difficult to ask anywhere around here.
The Chinese lady is always very stressed but incredibly nice and funny.

It sucks to see a place like this represent the R&B community. This is another one of those European Clubs that does not allow foreigners to enter because they are not so called "members" (aka because your black and male).. But yet have no problem playing our music... This is why many of our artist are chosing not to come to perform in Europe.
Personally i think this is sad becuase the people in Europe (for the most part) are great and really cool to hang out and party with (not to mention the women are super hot :) ). I would highly recommend spending your money else where...

I've heard many good things about Crown's, but alas, it didn't strike a chord with me when I visited.


From what I've heard, this was meant to be a club of P1's standard, a competitor of some sort. You're expected to dress up a little when clubbing here (girls in dresses/skirt + heels, guys in smart casual). It's said that only people on the guest list and selected people can enter, but I have no idea if that still holds true (was on the guest list). The bouncer was pretty friendly actually, so I didn't really get the P1 comparison.


Now the club itself - the interior was well thought out and designed; the place was big despite being in the basement; unlike other clubs, the toilets here were of a non-nauseating standard (could be cleaner, but one of the better ones I've seen already). The staff was also very friendly.


This club plays what they call "Black Music"; judging from what I've heard that night, I would say that refers to R&B, Hip Hop and Pop. Basically, anything you hear on the Top 100 charts on the radio has a very high chance of being played here.


So why only 3 stars?
I didn't really like the crowd and the music wasn't my cup of tea, so it was largely a matter of personal preference. For a person into R&B, this might just be his/her favourite club. Or at least that's the case for my R&B-loving friends (:
