Eindoordeel: 5 uit 5.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Connor F.Rockford, Vereinigte Staaten8617. Mai 2024
The food was quite good, had to try the currywürste and it was tasty. The service was also quick and they were very friendly.

When I first heard about the Currywurst, I assumed it was a curry-flavored sausage with spices mixed in with the meat. But actually, it's nothing but a pork sausage topped with curry ketchup, a thick tomato-based sauce dressed with curry powder. The sweet flavor of the ketchup dominated the dish, and the curry powder didn't have much perceivable flavor at all. The sausage had a smooth, soft texture and was nicely aromatic with herbs. I can't say that I understand the popularity of this Berliner snack, but it's a unique dish worth trying indeed!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Brian C.New York, Vereinigte Staaten65319826. I thought the currywurst here was ok. It's supposed to be one of the best places for curry sausage, so maybe I'm not into this sort of dish. Currywurst is essentially just a hot dog with curry powder and ketchup on it. I came on a weekday night and the line was still pretty long - maybe a 30 min wait with 10 people in front. It seemed like almost everyone in line were tourists.
I got the currywurst that came with fries. The sausage itself was pretty small, and I don't think the flavoring added that much. The fries were decent, pretty crispy, but nothing out of the ordinary. The portion size was pretty small, and it came out to around 6.70 euros which I think is pretty expensive for better quality and bigger portion size food you can find around Berlin.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 21. I wondered to myself if Curry 36 would be another overrated hot spot. I was hungry and tired, so decided to head on over to scope it out.
Line wasn't too bad on a weekday afternoon with about 5 or 6 people ahead of me. Got confusing as the one queue somehow turned into two and I got a little annoyed that folks basically got to cut by jumping into the second one.
There were some communication issues on ordering (my bad for not knowing any German), but I thought it was an easy peasy order. 1 bockwurst (saw it on the menu) and 1 fry. Cashier looked annoyed and I was going through the path of uh oh this ordering isn't going as planned. Anyway, somehow an order got through and they handed me a sauceless wurst and fries. Damn it. I asked for ketchup (meant the curry sauce cuz they look the same, ugh my bad) and all I got was regular ketchup on the side.
Initially stood to eat since their few tables were taken up but I eventually snag a spot as some people left. Hungry and digging in, I thought it was OK. The sausage and fries were fresh and hot...mixing everything together the sausage and fries were eventually all slathered with a various mix of ketchup, mustard, and mayo. With the ordering debacle, I got no curry sauce. Anyway, it wasn't anything that blew my socks off. Sliced sausage and fries slathered in condiments. It would make a good college hangover snack not something I'd stand in a super long line for. Total cost was 4.xx Euros.
Was it overrated? Sorta. Still might be worth a trip if you're close and need a quick bite.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 22. Sept. 2021Aktualisierter Beitrag
This place has the best vegan Currywurst that I know about. This would already give it 5 stars in my opinion as this sadly is quite rare In 2021 when you go to a place that is mainly geared towards meat eaters. They also prepare the vegan sausage completely seperste from the meat based products so there is no cross conterminatiom happening. Prices are on the cheaper side as it is a "Imbiss" but the vegan sausage is a bit more expensive then the meat original. Now they also have vegan Mayo so you can also enjoy your side of fries the euorpean way and still vegan.

- 35132585846311. Okt. 2017
It was after 1A, I had flown from Los Angeles to Stockholm (for the day), then to Berlin - checked into our hotel and hadn't eaten much at all. I couldn't get my hands on some German sausage any sooner! The place was abuzz but the service was super quick.
It was delish!!!! I probably could have been set with just one but I ordered the double sausage, with fries, ketchup and mayo and just about devoured every last bite standing out-front drinking a Berliner Pilsner.
If you're into quick, cheap, fill you up fast food this is the place to be. I'd advise to go easy because just a few steps away are other really tasty looking options (Mustafa kebob) as well.Helpful 8Thanks 1Love this 9Oh no 0 - 2. Aug. 2018
Quick moving line around 12:00PM on a Tuesday.
Pros:
-Covered outdoor standing area
-Vegetarian and vegan options!
Cons:
-Vegan options take ~5 minutes longer to make, which seems like a long time at a food stand

Currywurst (no bread or fries, 1.70 euro)
Sliced currywurst with curry ketchup--tastes like a better version of a hot dog.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bryan B.Seattle, Vereinigte Staaten106392111622. Sept. 2018
Mmm curry.
Say what you want, but a spot like this is perfect for a little snack or lunch option.
We were nearby at Mustafas and knew this was a must stop based off the amount of reviews. We went with the original and loved it. The crunch of the fries, the curry sauce and mayo...delicious!
We could use a few locations like this in the states.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 8452092417. Okt. 2018
In searching for good eats in Berlin, stumbled upon a blog post that called Curry 36 the best currywurst so we had to check it out! On a Tuesday afternoon, they had a decent sized crowd but the lines moved fast. In addition to a la carte, they have some special meal options, including 2 currywursts with fries for €5.20. We later learned that this good deal isn't offered at all the locations. You can also choose if you want the sausage to having casing/skin. So let's get to the food - rather than a thick curry sauce, they sprinkle curry powder topped with ketchup, which I really liked since the curry wasn't overpowering. Sausage with no casing was interesting, it changes the texture. And the fries had a nice crunch. A very good snack option.
