Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oleksandr S.Fort Myers, Vereinigte Staaten2115021117. Dez. 2018
This is a seafood restaurant in the heart of old town Düsseldorf. I ordered grill squids and I didn't like how it was cooked, too many oil was used and as a outcome the squids were so greedy and the taste was not delicious
Service good, free basket of bread with butter, unfortunately no wi-fi
Last time I had octopus here and it was delicious
If you like seafood you should visit this restaurant

We went to Fischhaus for lunch. The restaurant has very nice outdoor seating. Overall the restaurant is on the pricier side, which is fine because of the quality of the fish.
We ordered Loup de Mar. I can highly recommend this dish is was amazing. Fish was very tender and buttery, also the side dishes with potatoes and spinach were good. Especially the spinach tasted amazing! Highly recommend this meal.
Second dish was grilled squid - I would not order this again. I was disappointed. It was ok but not at the price point of 16€. It was served with a side salad which also included potato salad, both salads were ok but the squid was somewhat cold and also overcooked.
I would come here again but not eating squid. Wine also was great!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - R W.Nashville, Vereinigte Staaten09118131. Juli 2019
I'm surprised about the many low star reviews. Trip advisor tells a different story.
This place has been around and I have been here numerous times and never had a bad experience. As a matter of fact I look forward to stop here each time we're in town. My wife and I made friends with Mario the owner a while ago...can't say that it has had any influence on our dining experiences.
Their wines are not overpriced and well selected for their dishes. My favorite is their grilled octopus with with roasted potatoes and paprika spices...A very authentic Spanish dish and delicious. When in season their Matjes fish dishes with westfalian black bread are great too and can be a good appetizer to share.
If the weather allows, outdoor dining is fun if not too crowded. There are not many alternatives for Fish-Houses in Germany that have such a variety.
Of course, if there are large exhibitions in Dusseldorf places like this get overwhelmed and should be avoided.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christy R.Dallas, Vereinigte Staaten1441012793. Apr. 2019
We decided to go for dinner in downtown and wandered the streets looking for a nice restaurant and came upon the Fischhaus. You can't go wrong when you see whole fish on ice and a packed restaurant. We all really enjoyed our meals of salad, pasta and seafood, salmon and mushroom risotto and halibut. Great and friendly service and a fun atmosphere. I would recommend it if you are Dusseldorf.

Located right on the main pedestrian strip in the Altstadt, this was a bustling restaurant and appeared like it could be a tourist trap. However, it turned out to be a good experience. Communication was easy.
Ordered a salad, but it came with the entrees, which made for a very crowded little table (we sat outside). One entrée was the octopus a la plancha, which was fairly good and nicely seasoned. The other was grilled Scottish salmon over mushroom risotto; it was a nicely crisped piece of fish and satisfying dish. The restaurant was bustling on a Sunday night, but started to die down quickly with the light. Not expensive and a good valueHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sven H.München, Bayern241888. Very good food and service!
Been there a couple of times now and always satisfied! "Muscheln nach Fischhausart" are definitely worth trying! The same goes for the french fish soup, which is incredibly tasty.
Portions are well served and main dishes cost 17-30€.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - island s.Livermore, Vereinigte Staaten83921225. Feb. 2018
Great seafood selection atmosphere was fantastic. Very welcoming. Great food. The only turnoff is that this place is staffed by some Indians who are hustlers and suggested that he make a custom menu for me only for 50EUR but when I looked closely at the menu the combinations he suggesting I could have ordered each separately and still save monies. Now I've been to Germany many time and many cities. Germans are honest people sometimes too honest. These new immigrants are NOT! Sad because I'm

This is the place for seafood in dusseldorf, fast service, fresh hot food. We just happened to stop by after seeing several people in the window, we figured they couldn't be wrong and we were right! We enjoyed it and would come back

Clean and well located (middle of Altstadt) restaurant with really self-explanatory name. Although I ate Crayfish, which some may quibble over being "fisch" ;-)
Prices reasonable, service good, English spoken.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 16. Mai 2011
Wow, what a disappointment. Is this best that Dusseldorf has to offer? This place was highly recommended by our hotel and it was packed both nights we walked by. Walking by is what we should have done.
Horribly slow service on the famous patio. Ahmed, our server, was completely invisible. We waited and waited for him to show up. Waited for the drinks, waited to order, waited for the food while others around us were getting the gold treatment.
The hot bread was the highlight of the evening, but it was all downhill from there. The oysters were terribly salty. All of the entrees were so over salted they were inedible. We all left huge portions on our plates. The fish cuts were all good but the sauces and seasonings were way over done. The vegetables were boiled to a dull grey color. Everything in this town is served with boiled potatoes. I opted for the pasta instead. Too bad, over salted.
There was a huge line but we sat and sat and waited for the server all night long. We finally got the check after asking four times. Then, and only then did the waiter show a pulse. He literally grabbed the pen from the hand of my buddy claiming he needed it to write up someone else's order.
Avoid the tourist trap.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
