Gaststätte Marathon

Fantastic meals at very affordable prices. Been there many times and it's a great restaurant. Not sure how anyone could possibly complain, it's awesome.

This place has been a favorite since 1999! I make sure to visit every time I'm in town and it's always delicious. I pray that the family keeps it going for decades to come!

Delicious food and good service. My daughter and I shared the calamari for an appetizer, we both loved it. We got the small portion and it was perfect for the two of us. I got the gyro (pork) which was great but my daughter got the lamb chops and I would definitely recommend.

I had some kind of gyro bake on a friend's recommendation. She still maintains hers was amazing, but mine wasn't anywhere close. The meat was gristly and flavorless. I picked the baked cheese off the top.

My dining companion and I also had some tsatziki as an appetizer. It was a generous portion, and we might have wolfed it down, if there weren't.... what is that? feta cheese IN the tzatziki....? I tried to love it, but maybe my barriers of expectation were too locked in.

The fries that came with my dish, on the other hand, were quite amazing. I left pleasantly full on their worth alone.

I'd be willing to give a regular gyro or other menu items a chance, but only if I were dragged here by a friend. Basing my review on one dish that came recommended, I say skip this and go get a NY Kebab down the road in Landstuhl.

(I do want to mention, however, that the dining room has good atmosphere for sitting and visiting with friends you haven't seen in a while. Maybe have some beers and a plate of fries....)

Painfully average, redeemed only by it's Tuesday deals of five-euro pizza.

The location of the place is ideal for those near Vogelweh, Kapaun and Pulaski, but not worth the wait for a small lunch hour, and certainly not worth the price for a full dinner.
