Hotel Deutsches Haus

The ambience here was simply fantastic. Really a nice and cosy restaurant tastefully decorated with German artistry.

Service also was excellent with really good food recommendations. Ordered the Farmers roast which was simply delectable. Went extremely well with the beer made in the town itself. I ordered the soup too which complemented the bread as well.

The Farmers roast was a generous portion of pork with onions and mushrooms which were done to perfection. The meat was really tender and extremely flavourful.

This review is for the hotel's restaurant. This was the most amazing dinner that we had in Bavaria. At the time of our visit, the town was draining the lakes that surround the city because the fish would not survive the winter. So at this time, the city's restaurants feature menus with local fish (as well as fish from other sources). The chef's at Deutsches Haus took this concept to a very high level. Since I can't seem to put captions to my photos, here's what we had: starter of smoked trout mousse with cranberry sauce, an appetizer of smoked salmon with cauliflower and caviar, sturgeon with pasta over a lemon creme and crispy pike-perch with mussels, vegetables and puréed pumpkin. And a bottle of local Riesling. Was scrumptious!

This was very romantic, very nice. I would highly recommend.

The food was delicious and the waiters and staff were incredibly nice to accommodate a knucklehead as myself.

Overall it was a great experience!
