Hubmann Amberg

Ich bin des Öfteren unter der Woche Mittags zum Essen im Hubmann. 3 verschiedene Tagesgerichte zum fairen Preis und die Qualität ist auch ok.

Gestern, Samstagabend, waren wir zu viert. Tisch um 19:30 reserviert für 4 Personen. Soweit alles ok. Die Speisekarte gab es gleich. Getränke wurden nach rund 10 Minuten aufgenommen und flott gebracht. Rund 15 Minuten später konnten wir dann auch bestellen. Einmal Bruscetta als Vorspeise für alle. Das kam dann auch ca. 10 Minuten später.
Dann dauerte es aber satte 45 Minuten bis der Hauptgang kam. Einfach viel zu lang. Es gab, Holzfäller Steak, Putensteak Calabrese, Schnitzel Hawaii und einmal klassisch Rinderfilet. Bis auf das Filet fand jeder sein Essen als zu trocken und eher naja...

Ich werde mich zukünftig auf das Mittags Menü beschränken.

Best steak that my husband and I have had since arriving in Germany. We were shopping for shoes for our daughter and it got to be dinner time. We were looking at a menu of a close by restaurant when a passerby stopped us and walked us over to this restaurant. And let me tell you it was a pleaser! Husband had a rib eye and I had the Deutsch Madagascar (filet with cognac cream sauce). Asked for medium rare and they were a bit on the rare side but still good! With the steaks we had a trio of sauces served: herb butter, horseradish with cranberry, and a garlic sauce. The best was the horseradish.

The three of us (husband, 8 year old, and myself) shared the 2 steaks and the sides of a baked potato, grilled vegetables, and garlic toast and were plenty satisfied! Not American portions but very filling.

Worth the drive from Hohenfels.
