Lovely little gem for great matcha ice cream near old frankfurt. We ordered the matcha pan (small puffy bread with matcha crust - called grüner tea melon pan) and a matcha ice cream tea.
They were both delicious and perfect to pair for a hot day!Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - 1. Aug. 2018
Cute setup and ambiance w/ AC.
Green tea tarte (€4.80) was sweet and subtle, the lady recommended it and I agree with her recommendation!!
Matcha Melo pan (€2) didn't compare to the tarte, it was what i expected bread with a matcha sugary coating to taste like.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael U.Las Vegas, Vereinigte Staaten357755901666699. Juni 2019
Part Patisserie plus a Restaurant upstairs, it is at Braubachstrasse 24 that guests will find Iimori, and with elements of France as well as Japan incorporated into the space's design the difference from Frankfurt's otherwise Viennese and Hessen baking traditions is noteworthy.
Located in the touristy part of town, Altstadt's diversity of Churches within walking distance, Iimori opens its doors at 09h00 on weekdays and an hour later on weekends, the sub-10€ Breakfast Buffet proving popular amongst a largely Asian clientele while Pastries, Cakes and Coffee at the counter are additionally offered for dine-in or takeaway.
Laid out like a living room, plush chairs and low tables offering a comfortable place to relax with free Wi-Fi, patrons opting to dine-in will find a multi-lingual staff ready to offer both recommendations and table service, first bites of a bright pink "Melon Pan" reminiscent of Mexican Concha with better rise while traditional Pan An featured stretchy Egg-bread filled liberally with mashed Red Beans.
Less impressed by Iimori's Almond Croissant, a lateral cut filled with overly-sweet Frangipane compromising both taste and texture, it was surprising that a Donut sprinkled by Matcha-infused Sugar proved the meal's very best bite thanks to a soft and elastic Crumb while the Mont Blanc Cake Roll was moist and enjoyable despite the dearth of Chestnut flavor.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Mirini K.Washington, DC, Vereinigte Staaten15613818614. A little gem in the middle of Frankfurt.
My friend and I were exploring Frankfurt and we made a pit stop at IIMORI bakery. It had good reviews and we wanted to get some flakey croissants.
We walked in and felt like we were transported to France. The interior decorations feature eclectic French and Asian inspired furniture and plates/cups.
The chocolate croissants were perfect flakey layers. The latte was also very delicious with a smooth taste.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 15. Feb. 2018
Their desserts are OK but not amazing.
Cheesecake is good, green tea cake was disappointing. Chocolate cake was good also. Overall a cute cafe to enjoy coffee and dessert but they weren't mouthwatering or as amazing as expected.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - DanDan W.Frankfurt am Main, Hessen44621021. Juni 2017

This is a review for the Iimori Restaurant that is above the patisserie and seems to have the same owner. There apparently isn't a separate Yelp listing for it so I'm posting my review here. I went for the all you can eat lunch which was recommended on one of the travel sites (can't remember which one).
The restaurant and patisserie is in an old building, the bottom floor is the pattiserie and the 1st floor is the restaurant which takes up the whole floor. The main eating room is basically the old kitchen and dining room in the front of the floor. Most of the food is on the big kitchen island, which isn't much bigger than what I have at home (seats 4 on one side).
The sushi is all on one tray which they replenish when most of it is gone. There are only 2 pieces of each type of nigiri when it comes out plus a bunch of rolls so you have to be at the counter at the right time to snag the pieces you want. Quality was ok for an all you can eat place and temperature was room temp for both fish and rice, which is not great for late May. But my fellow diners kept joking that this place has been open for a long time without any food poisoning. Joking aside, it was pretty hot that day and we all didn't have any tummy aches so it was ok. So I would give 3.5/5 or the sushi.
Apart from the sushi, they had a lot of appetizer stuff, the whole front row. After the sushi, I had a lot of the hot foods, which included largish tempura/fried shrimp, gyoza, Japanese pancakes. They even had a waffle iron. The dessert pieces were pretty good and they had a small ice cream cooler to the side.
Price was 25euro per person plus drinks. I enjoyed the entire selection of food. I could probably have had a better meal for that price in Seattle but I enjoyed the eclectic selection of food and the funky decor of the place. I would probably go there again just to try it again and to have something different from regular German fare.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nick F.Haarlem, Niederlande17176730913. Jan. 2017
Cool place that look like you are in France from the decor but more like you are in Asia when you look at the food and ladies that work there. You really notice this place as something special when you are walking past and that it is.
It really looks like you are walking into France. From the furniture to the wallpaper, everything looks the part. The pastries all looked amazing and I really wanted to try one but I was so full and we were only going in to grab a coffee to warm up. The drinks are ordered at the counter and then brought over you you on silver trays after you sit down. Also with tiny little cups of steamed milk instead of just normal coffee creamer, a nice touch!
The only bad thing about this place is that the ladies that work there have a bit of attitude.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sade J.Leuben, Dresden, Sachsen016287. Jan. 2018
At first I was so excited to come here because I love Japanese desserts. But even though the desserts look just like they should, everything else about this place made me not want to even take a bite. At first, I actually left the café, but ended up coming back just to take some desserts to go. I did not want to stay.
Such a disappointment. Really brought down the excitement level of my trip to Frankfurt. Not clean. Service is not friendly. Handling money with the same hands used to pick out the food. The wallpaper is tattered. Some of the walls have mold on them.
I'm not sure why it is so popular or crowded, because it's not someplace that I would ever come back to again. There are many other places that you can go in Frankfurt.
By the way, they do not take EC cards for anything below twenty euros .Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
