OK but not great. Took the the family and MIL to dinner here while she was visiting. Our dinner was a (very) mixed bag. Several of our meals were good while others were not great. MIL had pumpkin soup. She said it was tasty but didn't taste at all like pumpkin was in it. Salads tasted as if they were primarily dressed in vinegar. Overpowering.

I had the steak with onions. In general, grossly undercooked and an extremely tough cut of meat. Even the onions on top were undercooked, practically raw. I regret not sending it back but, initially, because of the lighting I could not visually determine the doneness of the meat. Was half way through before I could confirm, so gave up. Several of our diners liked their meals, so it wasn't a complete loss.

In general, the portions were generous. Prices were moderate. The steak was not cheap and expected a better cut of meat for the price.

The high point of the meal was the friendly service.That said, no one ever came back to check on the meal after it was served. I know this is somewhat rare with European-style 'unobtrusive' service, but it would've been nice to help resolve the problem earlier when something could be done to resolve the situation.

The decor was decent, but a large dramatic portrait of the chef (and I'm assuming owner) dominates the front of the restaurant. To me, after working in the restaurant business for a bunch of years, this is a red flag. I also noticed that the coffee beans they use for their espresso machine were the store brand from the local hypermart. Won't be going back.
