L. A. Poke

L.A. Poke just opened about a week and a half ago. It's a great addition to the Berlin poke scene. The poke is more California style than Hawaiian but with some excellent unique additions, such as pickled daikon and their homemade, signature L.A. shouyu sauce.

The fish portion was a bit small so I needed to get a double portion to have the normal amount of fish as in the US. The amount of sauce is also on the conservative side so if you like sauce, you may need to ask for a bit more. The rice is also a bit mushy so if you are very picky about rice, you have been warned!

Overall, the fresh and thoughtful ingredients (no carrots or cabbage in sight!!) mixed together with their sauce was perfect! Looking forward to coming back to try more.

Great food, unfortunately the service is strange and the opening times are completely incorrect. If you close at 9pm (on google) and 10pm on their door, why do they stop the service at 8:15? Even for takeaway? This is completely false information. I had to walk in the freezing cold and for to be rejected service. I did not even want to sit in the place, just a takeaway. Either abide by YOUR OWN RULES or change your opening times.

If you want to finish up early, cool, CHANGE YOUR TIME. Don't mislead your customers, next time I will go to Ma'loha poke which is 5 mins away.
