Yelp Review 2023 #297:
Our hotel was a quick minute walk from Lutter & Wegner and we wanted some traditional Austro-German food while we were in the city. It's across the street from the Konzerthaus, and 2 big churches in Berlin and you'll get a nice view of one of them depending on where you get seated. I recommend getting a reservation and being on time for it so you get good service.
Pumpkin Soup:
My sister loves pumpkin soup every time we're in Germany. I'm quite the opposite. I'm just not a fan of pumpkin anything. So, I wouldn't even bother rating this.
Wiener Schnitzel:
Breaded thin pan-fried veal cutlet fried with choice of potato and cucumber salad or crispy fried potatoes. I went with the potato and cucumber salad to cut the fried monotony. The cutlet was properly cooked and is the size of an entire plate. The breading was light and just enough to crust the cutlet for texture. The potato and cucumber salad adds some acidity and freshness. 4/5
Sauerbraten:
Their prize-winning marinated beef with gravy, apple and red cabbage slaw, and mashed potatoes. The beef is tender and flavorful. I'm not a fan of slaw of any sort but the apple and cabbage slaw was actually quite nice. Mashed potatoes were good. 4/5
Apfelstrudel:
Warm apple strudel served with bourbon vanilla sauce. A nice way to sweeten a meal. 4/5
We had a great dining experience. Service was pleasant if you don't mind cold non-smiling people - my kind of people!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 22. März 20241 check-in
Lutter & Wegner have been in business for more than two centuries. While the setting is charming and definitely old Berlin, the food and service are subpar. Stop by for a beer and then eat somewhere else.

Yelp review
Upscale traditional German restaurant with all the classic dishes. Wine list is massive @ 80+ pages, and I was able to nail a couple reasonably priced Spanish selections for our party. My one complaint is they only two beers to choose from with one being non-alcoholic... obviously their focus is wine, but it is a German restaurant!! Anyway, everyone enjoyed their Wiener schnitzel, sauerbraten, and we were happy we saved room for Apfelstrudel (Apple Strudel) & Black Forest Gateau (cake) dessert! Overall, not too pricey, but the food, service, atmosphere, & overall experience fit the bill.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2. Juni 2022
Came here one night to try the seasonal white asparagus. Arriving after dinner around 8:30pm, we were seated immediately.
Then we waited, waited, and waited. Nothing happened. So we decided to leave.
The staff originally seated us trying to leave quickly fixed the situation and the food came in one minute.
I don't know why we were ignored at the first section we were seated but as soon as we started walking away, service became prompt.
Food was what I expected to be. I always have white asparagus with potato around this time of the season.
I am not sure if I would come back again considering what happened. They serve traditional German food, recommend by our hotel staff.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 14Oh no 1 - 19353125515. Okt. 2022
It was fine. Had the sauerkraut with red cabbage (good) and mashed potatoes (nothing special. It was okay.

Let me start by saying how wonderful our server was. This man could interpret all my friends substitutions and customizations. She made more changes to an entree than the usual American requests and our server read her mind and got everything right! A big win for someone speaking English as a second language!
I ordered the lamb (no substitutions), another friend the brazed beef and third was in mentionable... the lamb was a bit rare for my taste but the flavor was good and the sides were great. The creamed beets (they mean turnips here) was really good. I got a side of mashed potatoes and put the creamed sauce on top it was so good!
We sat in the wine bar area of the restaurant that is only open after 4pm. Wonder atmosphere. Def eat here!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kelly D.Madison, Vereinigte Staaten89116. Aug. 2023
A must try when in Berlin. We had the cheese sampler and sipped some tasty wine while taking in the city.

Wonderful ambiance and service at Lutter and Wegner, the food was just ok. I tried their "award winning" beef and it was dry and boring. The schnitzel was good. The water bottles were almost 10 euros per bottle which just felt like a scam. Overall, we had a nice time but no one was impressed with their meal.

Delicious wienerschnitzel at Lutter and Wegner! The portion sizes are huge! The host and servers were very friendly and accommodating. They had a very interesting interior and decor. I mainly came here to try the wienerschnitzel, which did not disappoint! If you are looking for a delicious meal in Berlin, make sure to drop by Lutter and Wegner!
PROS: Excellent service and delicious food
CONS: There was a slight wait to get the orders in, but it was probably a busy day
TIPS: Make reservations by giving them a call or send them an email, they are very prompt. Get the weinerschnitzel and try a dessert!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Karen S.Dallas, Vereinigte Staaten018526923. März 2019
We really enjoyed our dinner here. From when we walked in to the end of the meal, great service. HUGE wine list. Interesting art everywhere.
To the food. The potato soup was very good. I expected it to be a creamy puréed soup but this was a pleasant surprise. The fired wurst bites were delicious. Husband loved the white asparagus with rosemary ham, boiled potatoes, and hollandaise sauce. The Vienna style chicken portion was big. The crusty was nice and crispy. The lemon dressing on the butter lettuce salad was good. The schnitzel we saw looked good and huge portion.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
