9euros to take the elevator up to the observation deck on the highest floor. The view and breeze was nice, but we only stayed for a couple of minutes at the top.

Square in the heart of the financial district, the Main Tower literally towers over everything around it. Walking down the street, I now know where the term concrete jungle comes from......the street had little to no traffic (vehicle or pedestrian), and was shaded by all the skyscrapers around it.
Surprisingly, there was a small line to get in....it probably was a ten minute wait, tops. It was only 3 or 4 Euros per adult, but you did have to go through a security check. You get crowded into an elevator that whisks you to the top, and then you have to climb a few small sets of stairs to a large fully outdoor observation deck.
The views are wonderful.....all of Frankfurt lies in front of you, with the Main river cutting through the city. It was neat to see where we had been and where we were going to next.
Yes, climb the towers of the churches around town, but make sure you visit here as well. You won't be disappointed!

**BEWARE** No refund for bad weather ie ice
We bought tickets weeks beforehand. When we showed up to the door a person said it's closed due to ice up top (which is understandable) and that we should have seen it on the website. When we asked where we could get a refund he said "no refund" and instructed us to leave. He said it would reopen in 2 days but that would be too late for us as we travel back home. 1 star for poor customer service experience, I'm sure up top on a good day is great.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 8. We stayed in Frankfurt for one night and did the most tourist thing possible. We came to Main Tower at night and view was amazing.
We came here during a weekday night and there was no one there. There was no lineup and only a few people on the top of the Main tower.
I like this place because it was outdoor. We got nice night view of the city.
It is definitely a must-do for tourist visiting Frankfurt.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 23. Jan. 2018
A great spot to get high. No, not *that* kind of high. This is the part where you pay a few Euros, wait in a line, go through a magnetometer and then ride a speedy elevator (18 km/hour!) to get a terrific view.
Unlike some other observation decks, the top of the Main Tower is completely open other than a low railing. There's no glass between you and the sky. No need to worry, though. The observation deck is indented from the floors below so even if you were to accidentally go over the railing, you'll only go a single floor down.
The lack of glass makes for great pictures on a clear day and today was a super clear day. Some low clouds over the city, but the city itself was unimpeded. At least ten miles visibility in all directions. Super awesome.
The building itself is 656 feet tall (200 meters) not including the spire. Named for the nearby Main river, it is the 4th tallest building in Frankfurt and the 4th tallest in Germany and tied for 24th tallest in Europe. It is the only skyscraper in Frankfurt that has an observation deck open to the public.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - 24. Apr. 2018
7 euros and you get to see Frankfurt from the top! Up 200 meters in the sky. (Oh, no credit card is accepted here)
The building is very modern, the lobby is reasonably spaced and there were plenty seating areas to sit around if you are waiting for someone. The location is not too far from the main area.
When I went before sunset, it wasn't crowded. If you have been to the Sears tower or Empire State Building, this one is tiny, however, since it's not crowded, it's the most cozy observation deck I have ever been to! People were quietly enjoying the view. Don't forget a jacket if you are not a fan of the wind.
The view is spectacular 360 degrees. You do have a bit of blocked view of the Main because of the round Commerze bank tower, but it's not a big deal at all.
Btw, this is for myself to note just in case I forget, it was sorta funny when the lady yelled "no card" the second time. My friend and I both laughed out after we left the reception counter. Do not mess with her! Lol.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2. Jan. 2018
This business trip was plopped down on me on fairly short notice. I was advised to make travel plans on a Wednesday. I flew out on a Saturday.
I have a habit of going to an observation tower whenever I am travelling. I like to squeeze in as much sightseeing as I can. I like a good view of the city and enjoy taking photos. I did a search and found the Main Tower.
The downside was that the observation deck closes at 7 pm. My workday finished at 5 pm. So, my thinking was to walk back the hotel (less than ten minutes), drop all my stuff, grab a snack, and hail a taxi to get to this tower.
I used a taxi service app on my phone, which worked well. The driver picked me up promptly and got me to the tower well before 6 pm. You'd expect punctuality in any part of German. I often think that I must have been German in a past life, because I am equally as punctual!
I entered the tower and paid 6,50 Euro to access the observation deck. I recall going through a security area and having my belonging, including my DSLR camera, scanned. All was well. I took the elevator up. I liked how it told you where you were and how fast you are going.
The city view is impressive on the observation deck. I spent the rest of my time there taking photos, admiring the view on a crisp evening, and trying to make out where everything was. There was a weather broadcast happening while I was there, which is cool.
If you are in Frankfurt for a brief period and want something to do that costs little, come here. The view is amazing!

We've had a dog in closed bag, we've stand in a line for 15 minutes to hear that we can not visit the tower, but they didn't even have the sign that dogs are not allowed.

Got some cool photos but standing in line was terrible. You have to go through security similar to airport security to even get in. It was the only place that was crowded during my week trip to Frankfurt. If you're going for sunset pictures, I recommend going early and waiting it out (so possibly not best in the Winter like I did, it was very cold)

Little more than an observation deck overlooking Frantkfurt, Main Tower's biggest issue is one of overcrowding and time consuming lines in an area featuring limited parking by the hour. No special features such as a glass floor, just an elevated vantage. YMMV.
