Restaurant Michelangelo

We went to Restaurant Michelangelo 3 times during our stay in Rothenburg. We only had dessert and drinks, but everything was amazingly delicious! I wish we would have had dinner, definitely next time! The ambiance was warn and cozy and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend going here, you won't be disappointed.

Sincerely, the best Italian food I've had (outside of Italy!). The atmosphere was beautiful, the service impeccable, the staff were incredibly friendly and continued to stop by our table for a chat. They were so kind to our 3yo daughter and provided her her own beautiful themed children's menu and unicorn napkin which she loved.

Back to the food, FRESH! It was delectable and beautifully served! I cannot say more! I cannot wait to return?

We didn't have dinner reservations for any place on New Year's Eve- a stupid mistake on our part - and so after calling and walking around we hit on this gem. The folks there couldn't have been nicer about setting us up with some good eats to go and two bottles of uncorked wine.

Having learned our lesson, we made reservations and had dinner there on New Year's Day. Food was excellent all around, other diners were friendly and fun to chat with and the professional and friendly service was unflagging.

Best food I've had in Germany yet! The mushroom risotto with chestnuts & shaved black truffle is the best risotto I've ever had. The portions are generous, but it does not detract from the delicate flavors.

Also ordered the salad with tuna (which was like a Niçoise salad with egg, olives, tomato, onion) & it was perfectly balanced.

Definitely would come back to this place.

This is an elegant little Italian restaurant with white tablecloths, dim lighting, subdued, but colorful decor and excellent service!

We were well taken-care of and enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendliness we experienced here. We ate inside, but there is an outside patio as well.

The food was delicious and well-prepared. A good wine list and a full bar. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for Italian dining in Rothenburg!

Romantic restaurant with exceptional service and great food. I had a Creamy pasta with prosciutto ham. My wife had a huge salad with yogurt. My friends had the Salmon served over gnocchi and 4 cheese pasta. All meals were excellent. I will visit this restaurant again. Salute.

Nice Italian restaurant In Germany a little bit salty but seems like all the Germany foods are salty.

I ate at Michelangelo's every night while I was in Rothenberg and every time it was great. This place gets busy for dinner so be sure to make reservations in advance. The staff is very friendly and the service was exceptional. The pasta is fresh and flavorful. The creme brûlée is a must try! This was my favorite place in all of Germany and I will definitely be returning if I'm ever in town again.

The location was really great. You can easily find the place. We were immediately greeted. Everything was great until you get your food. As soon as we received our food, we felt ignored. You can see the other server checking on other table few minutes after they receive their food. No one asked how was our food nor if we want more drinks? Because clearly, our glass were almost empty. We finished our food, moved it in the middle of the table and away from us. The servers walked by us and asked the other table how was their food. But here we were, done with ours. 20 minutes had gone by with them walking by us, still nothing. It was hard to get their attention because they walked fast and they were looking at the other table. And finally, the same server who walked by multiple times finally asked if we were done. And we said yes. I no longer want to stay there any longer so we asked for the check. The craziest thing, he was looking at us the whole time we were waiting for our check. He walked by us and asked the other table if their food was okay. 10-15 minutes later, after he walked by us, he remembered our check and then he finally gave us our check. He stood there until we gave our form of payment. If you like waiting and being ignored, this is the place.
Food: AMAZING! The food was great. It tasted amazing. We would be back for the food but because of the service, no thanks.

Staying in Rothenburg and can't face another schnitzel? This Italian ristorante is just the cure. Cocktail menu, wine, and big, big menu of primi and secondi items. Staff speaks Italian, German, and English. Inside and outside seating. This was recommended to us by a local person as a place where locals go for a nice dinner. We enjoyed pasta bolognese and a grilled salmon entree. Would definitely go back.
