Sleepy Lion Hostel, Youth Hotel & Apartments

Für ein Hostel war ich angenehm überrascht. Es war absolut sauber, die Zimmer sehr geräumig und das Personal sehr freundlich. Jedes Zimmer hat sein eigenes Bad was für ein Hostel nicht üblich ist.
Kurz gesagt, für einen Städtetrip in Leipzig ist es absolut empfehlenswert. In nur wenigen Gehmiuten erreicht man viele kleine Bars und Restaurants. Auch der Grieche gegenüber ist sehr zu empfehlen.
Ich war begeistert.

Alright, now that's what a hostel is supposed to be like! Great, central location 10 mins on foot from the main train station, ten mins on foot to the city centre, major tram station just in front. The building is just breathtakingly beautiful with high ceilings, wooden floors and lots of stucco. The rooms are very clean, everything seems brandnew and well taken care of. I slept supergood in a comfortable bed with cosy sheets and I can report that not all rooms are exposed to street noise;) The hostel staff are just awesome, they are like family and helpful in finding your way around Leipzig. You can have breakfast here for a meagre 3,5EUR as well. Wifi is free (and it works, too!). There's a foosball and a bar and a lounge and and andWhat I'm trying to say is, when you come to Leipzig, check into the Sleepy Lion, that's basically the point I'm trying to make here;-)

I tend to avoid hostels like the plague but a friend of mine convinced me that this hostel was nice and I decided to take a chance. I wasn't disappointed. My only real complaint was that I was on the 4th floor, had a VERY heavy suitcase and there's no lift. It took about 20mins just for me to manage to get up the stairs. This probably won't be a problem for most as I think most people that stay in hostels tend to have backpacks. Hence the term 'backpackers hostel' Anyway, once I finally made it to the room I was pleasantly surprised. I was sharing with 2 friends and the room was very spacious with 3 single beds. There was a little entrance hall where we could keep our luggage and this entrance hall also lead to the large bathroom. The room was very clean and bright and the beds were surprisingly comfortable.
A basic buffet breakfast was included in the price and although it wasn't anything special it was pleasant enough and the coffee was good. If you're on a budget, I'd recommend this hostel and believe me, I never thought I'd recommend a hostel to anyone!

We had a wonderful time there and Leipzig is worth to visit. The hostel moved to a new refurbished bulding which is just unique.
