Taj Mahal

Leider sind wir zu selten im Taj Mahal, weil wir meistens denken, man müsse in andere Stadtteile fahren, weil indisch Essen für uns immer etwas mehr "Ausgehen" ist, als zum Beispiel zum Griechen zu gehen.

Das Taj Mahal ist wirklich super und das zarte Lammfleisch ist ein hervorragendes Zeichen von Qualität!

Es duftete und schmeckte alles sehr aromatisch und hatte das Flair des Originalen. Für mich hätte die Soße mit Chili fürs Huhn ruhig etwas schärfer sein können.

Schön war auch die dezente indische Musik im Hintergrund und wenn man wollte, konnte man auch dem indischen TV zuschauen, was für mich das Flair in dem liebevoll eingerichteten Restaurant noch erhöhte.

I finally decided to try this place close to the airport hotel in Hamburg. The food was ok. Portions are tiny. We had to wait for almost an hour for the food to arrive. It was just two orders of chicken curry, one rice and one naan bread. The waiter seemed to avoid all eye contact during the time we were waiting for our order. A bottle of water for 7€ seems way too steep. A bit of an awkward experience. Don't think I will come back again. :/

Excellent! Great variety and great service. Authentic, home cooked. Easy walk from airport hotels.

I had very few choices for food staying so close to the Hamburg airport for a week. Taj Mahal was a 10 minute walk from my hotel and I ventured out one night to avoid having another meal at the hotel bar. They have a nice and unique interior. It was a quite evening since I didn't make it there until 9:30 PM.

I ordered chicken Biriyani as my main meal and was I in for a surprise or what. The dish arrived steaming and was quite unique compared to any Biriyani I have had in the past. The rice was laced with apples, grapes, raisins along with nuts. I have never had so many fruits in my biriyani but it did make for one interesting and unique dinner that was on the sweeter side but the nuttiness and chicken flavor balanced it out well.

I ordered a dessert to finish that was extremely sweet and covered in something like a mango sauce. This was a little too sweet for my taste but I will definitely go back and would love to try other dishes from the menu.

Amazing food, great service. Nothing needed seasoning it was all perfect. Would gladly make this a regular place to visit.
