Im Grund waren das wohl mal zwei Geschäfte, die heute aber eine gemeinsame Eingangstür besitzen.
Auf der einen Seite befindet sich der Tee-Laden mit einer tollen Auswahl an Tee-Sorten aus aller Welt auf der andere Seite das Café.
Ich habe dort gefrühstückt und war besonders von den selbstgebackenen Brötchen sehr angetan. So etwas bekommt heute nur noch selten, weil sich niemand mehr die Arbeit machen möchte. Hier ist das anders!
An Tee habe ich drei Sorten zum testen mitgenommen. Auch das war ohne Problem möglich. So kann ich zu Hause mit meinem Wasser, ganz in Ruhe den Geschmack testen.
Ich komme wieder - mir hat es sehr gut gefallen!

Lieber Christian H.,
vielen Dank für die fünf Sterne und das toll Lob. Das hören wir natürlich gerne und freuen uns, wenn unsere Bemühungen auch bei unseren Gästen ankommen. Das klappt zwar nicht immer, aber wir versuchen es immer wieder aufs Neue....
Dann freuen wir uns auf einen nächsten Besuch, gibt ja noch ein paar mehr Teesorten auszuprobieren.

PS: In der Tat waren das mal zwei Läden, aber das war nur bis ca. Mitte 1900.... Wir sind ja erst 18 Jahre jung und haben die damals vorhandene Aufteilung in Café und Laden bereits mit übernommen.

The wait staff is friendly and as chatty as you'd want them to be. They have a great selection of teas - it's really one of the best places I've found after years of living on and off in Berlin. What gives it the 5 star rating, which I don't do all that often (I don't think) is that they have a great Tea Happy Hour, where for two hours you can get any tea on their extensive list at a discounted price.
I'm on a crazy horrific student budget (eating 3 squares that don't involve beans can be a challenge some days), but I've got to get out of my pint-sized apartment and work and when I do, I often come here.

Hi K.S., thanks a lot for your lovely notice and of course for giving us 5 stars. Hopefully our Tea Time invites you to taste ALL of our teas although one of them may not be your cup of tea. But even if not: maybe just sitting there and tasting the variance could whisk you from busy and hard work?

Was really homesick and so excited about having a scone but they were more like stale homemade biscuits and worst of all they served SOUR CREAM instead of clotted cream which honestly made me want to vomit! What are they thinking?!?!?! The service was good and the decoration of the plate was nice but there are also a gazillion better value for money places on Goltzstrasse...I am off scones forever now!!! Sour cream?! Yuk!

Dear Chloe S.,
very sorry to read your disappointment concerning our scones. I brought that original recipe with me from Ireland some years ago and lots of people really do like them. But maybe something went wrong in the production this day? We will check this. Anyway: I have just come back from a trip to Scotland and have found different recipes (and tastes as well) and we will discuss about that, you can be sure.
You are right: the cream itself is NOT a clotted one. And you are not right: it´s NOT sour cream. That´s why we mention that on purpose in our menu. We know that the taste of clotted cream is different. To mention that the taste has made you to vom... is not really nice but as far as we take all comments seriously we will also have a closer look to that.

If you love tea or even just like it this is the place to go. They have a wonderful selection of all kinds of tea. This can seem pretty overwhelming, but the people who work there gave me an excellent recommendation. They've got a great place to just sit and read while sipping on your pot of tea.
I had a piece of carrot cake with my tea. It was okay, but definitely not the greatest.
