The Big Dog

Great more unique currywurst spot. Since being in Berlin for the marathon, I had a few other currywurst and they were awful. This place changed my mind and made me see it in a new light. Give it a try, it's worth it.

Not sure why this place has poor reviews. It's highly rated in trio advisor. If you want a hot dog, fries and a beer for 16 euros it's solid option. You gotta have a Frankfurt when you are in Germany. This is better by far that what you get at Frankfurt airport.

We liked this Hot Dog spot conveniently in the center of Berlin. It was pretty empty inside on a weekend lunch time which was nice as we didn't want to be somewhere crowded.

We all liked the Hot Dogs and the fries. The service was also very good (as service can be hit or miss in Germany).

The prices are probably a bit high for a Hot Dog but decent for eating out for lunch.

(Real) Dogs are allowed inside.

Overall great and convenient. Recommended!

The only reason I'm giving a 4 star is because it's a fast food restaurant but the food is amazing. Samantha was a great waitress. Guided us through the best choices and she was right.

Stayed at the adjacent Marriott so convenience was great, plus we "love sausage." The Greek dog and hanswurst were both very good. Went twice. Friendly staff. Fast service.

Phenomenal. I had been searching for good food with good beer since leaving my hotel. I know, shouldn't be hard in Berlin. But I didn't want an Italian place or kebab shack. Found this place and I'm in love. Got the straight dog, with all things awesome in it. And then the El Jefe fries loaded with guacamole and tomato and mayo and OMG.
I would work here if I could just to get the employee discount. Oh, and the draft beer is good.

This was not a good experience. Both Google and Yelp said this place was open until 2100 on a Sunday so I thought I had plenty of time showing up at 1950. When I arrive they were sweeping the floors, putting the tables up, and counting the checks. I assumed Yelp and Google were wrong and asked if they were closed. They said they were open but could only do quick takeaway orders. I felt really lucky but what they apparently meant to say was "we have some leftover garbage we need to get rid of but are willing to sell to you." I ordered the signature Big Dog and fries at a total of 12-13 Euro. It came up within just a couple of minutes and I was eating it pretty quickly thereafter as I was staying upstairs at the Marriott hotel.

It was miserable. Everything was lukewarm as though it had been sitting around for quite some time. The fries, the dog, the toppings. Nothing seemed fresh or hot. And the dog itself was quite tough. You'd think a hot dog is tough to ruin but Big Dog managed to do it brilliantly. This place is obviously a tourist trap being connected to the Marriott hotel and all but as someone who stays 50+ nights in Marriotts in a year, I am not above a tourist trap from time to time. Just give me good food. Based on my experience, this should be avoided at all costs.

We were very happy that we stopped here on our way to our hotel. It's great food and reasonable prices.

The hanswurst was delicious. All the toppings went really well together. And it came loaded!

It was my first and only currywurst but it did not disappoint. Tasted like a tangy marinara sauce to me. Serving with bread was nice to soak up the extra sauce.

The Italian fries were better than expected with a nice pesto flavor throughout. Big portion too.

Ordered an IPA cause I didn't want Becks and even though I don't usually like IPA I actually enjoyed this one.

If we were local we would come back to try other styles. The server was very friendly too.

I was really excited to see a vegan hot dog option on the menu only to be very disappointed. The hot dog portion was a carrot which is fine (although there are many different vegan hot dog protein options in the market) but they steamed it so it was just a squishy unseasoned stick. The topping on it weren't much for texture -- tomato and sweet potato not to mention it was super expensive for a carrot on a bun. The French fries were good atleast but if you're looking for a vegan option there are better out there.
