I think of Angermaier as the Bavarian equivalent of Ralph Lauren. They take true Bavarian classics as the foundation for their collections and interpret them with modern fashion. For this, Angermaier is a respected and trusted name in Trachtenmode, i.e., dirndl and lederhosen fashion.

The service is very willing to help and to advise, and will ask questions to make sure they understand what it is you seek. If you're completely new to Bavarian Tracht, or have never taken the time to develop your own style, or simply want to know the latest, Angermaier's website is a good source to get an idea for the current trends, looks, and colours.

And whatever it is you seek - dirndl, lederhosen, shirts, blouses, belts, jewelry, scarves, janker, etcetera - Angermaier presents a wide array of it on two different floors, with the gents section being upstairs. The problem here is not finding something you like. It's finding enough money to buy the dozens of things that you will find and like. This is where money goes to be spent. More accurately, this is where lots of money goes to be spent. But it is spent very well.

Logistics-wise, the days right before the Wiesn opens are the busiest of the year, and you'll find yourself squeezed in here like a sardine. Of course, I like to find an excuse to go at that time anyway for the complementary Weißbier they serve for their customers at that time. ;)
