Victoria Bar

I went to this bar tonight after reading the good reviews and wanting to experience a good cocktail bar in Germany. The front door was locked. I looked in the window and motioned for someone to come to the door. The older male bartender with the military style hat opened the door. I asked if they were open and explained that the door was locked. He scolded me explaining that the door is always locked; chewed me out stating I should've rang the bell. The doorbell is on the wall opposite of the door and not clearly marked as the doorbell of the establishment. I apologized and said it was my first time there. I went inside and sat at the bar. This bartender was utterly disgusted by my existence the entire time I was there. Is it because I'm a Black Man? American? The younger slim bartender with a mustache was very nice & helpful. He made me an excellent old fashioned. I told him this was my second time in Berlin and I'm running the Berlin Marathon. We had a nice brief conversation about the marathon and runners, and he invited back to the bar after the marathon. After I finished my drink I sat there with an empty glass for at least 10 minutes with no staff acknowledging me. So finally I waved to the older bartender wearing the hat. He rolled his eyes & head at me and then walked over to me. I told him I was ready to pay, and I paid him. Before I left I shook the hand of the nice bartender and he said see you Sunday.
This is my second time in Berlin and third time in Germany, and this is the worst I have ever been treated.

Decent Bar in Berlin. Im a huge fan of the decor - Its very accurate mid century. Come early and have your pick of where to sit..otherwise you might show up to a full house...The service was average for Berlin which means it's about 5-8 min before someone takes your order or acknowledges you. this was fine here because the menu is thick with lots of interesting cocktails to choose. So no point off for that. Pricing is ok but i chose happy hour which is acceptable not sure what normal pricing is as i might have taken a star off if i had known..the happy hour pricing is where things should be for Berlin.
I feel that this is definite list maker so you have to stop here when visiting berlin or if your in the mood for a well made drink.

I have been in place several times and the drinks are simply the best.
The owner is a recingnized bartender in the city and she looks for nothing but the best in order to create flavored cocktails.
The place is not cheap but after you go there you just don't want to have cocktails any where else. Happy hour is a very good excuse if you are not sure!!!!
The crowd is a little elite but cool. The place is clean, service is very good and friendly even they are not really fluent in English.
The best dring is the Mathai. I have tried many others but this is my favorite and every time they make it just right!!!! always the same flavour.
They also have food but i have never taste it.

The only bad thing about this place is that after 22:00 the ashtrays come out and everyone stars smoking!! I hate smoking bars.

You need to try it...!!!!

This is one of my favourite bars in Berlin. If you are into mixology, or like old-school cocktails, this is the real deal. It seems straight out of the 20s, with the old-timer staff to boot. I recall the barstaff wearing some sort of WWII-looking navy-ish hats.
The menu is a hardcover like a vintage book. It has dozens of cocktails listed, made with anything from gin to champagne, to brandy. I've tried a few, and since they're pretty strong, can only have a few each time I go! The pink lady, and the aviation are among my favourites since I am a fan of gin in cocktails...
The prices are a little high--8-15 euro per cocktail, and the service is slow, (as I found this the case in most places in Berlin) but it is definitely worth the trip.

I had been told by a friend who loves Berlin that this is the place to go for cocktails. Then upon research, I found out they have happy hour from 6:30pm-9:30pm!

This cocktail bar, with a 1920's vibe, and handsome bartenders will do you right. I doubt you can have a bad drink in here! I love a bar that splits its drinks into types of liquor because otherwise, I have to scan drinks with tequila in it. I stuck with the Spanish Harlem for the night and my friend loved her Gimlet.

One of the best things about this place was that behind the bar was a handwritten sign that said "come on, just a sip for daddy".

We have really mixed feelings about Victoria. The fair score would be probably 3.5. They have really big choice of good drinks. Interior is nice, not so many tables with long bar with plenty of seats. The one thing that significantly lowers the score is atmosphere. On Saturday night the average age was way over 40, with great majority of couples. It felt rather like romantic restaurant than a lively place. So we were wondering how does it look like during the week. Most probably rather emptish.

This place used to be fantastic, literally like stepping in an episode of mad men. Classy sophisticated and great service. Today it's populated by some kids in hoodies, orders are wrong and there is substantial pressure to pay and leave once the 15€ drink is drank. If it was for my experience today I would leave only two stars. One more for the previous four years of excellence.

Charm, class, style and atmosphere all come together at Vicky's with an amazing combination of coziness and sophistication (without posh); manifested by the very friendly and capable bar staff and vintage (not dingy) modest stylish interior design. The cocktail menu is among the best and interesting I have seen and tested throughout my travels. If you can't find what suits your kin in the menu the bar staff will assist you in satisfying your drinking desires. Don't be intimidated by the door bell, you will most likely receive a friendly welcome.

Not exactly what you would expect in the Kurfürstenstr. Area.an extremely cool location with a berliner 1920s Charme,Huge list of great cocktails and friendly Bar men.two thumbs up.

Great place, great atmosphere, very good bartenders and pretty cheap prices regarding quality... It's classic cocktail bat at its best with a modern twist regarding decorum.
