Watzke Brauereiausschank am Ring

Very nice place to stop for beer and small or large bites. I got the weisswurst with monthly beer that rotates and my husband got the meatloaf with potatoes and cabbage. The weisswurst was very tasty and came two in an order and served in a tasty broth with small veggies. It also came with a pretzel which is a great deal for 7€. The beer was tasty as well. The meatloaf is very dense and cut like a thick ham slice. On the salty side, this was well balanced with the sour cabbage and potatoes. We also ordered a side of beer sauce which is similar to a gravy and goes with meat dishes, not an accompaniment to the pretzels. The sauce tasted strongly of dark beer. Service was wonderful and we were checked on often by our server. Menus have English translations and it was nice to see a good mix of both Germans and foreigners here. Overall a great dining experience.

This is off the tourist track, but a great, really authentic beer hall with cheap (inexpensive) beer and local food. Good value for money on he food and cultural experience side.

We came for beer, because we had some earlier in our trip and it was our favorite.

The July special brew was Hefeweizen and so good. I ordered one litre for only €6.90! Very good banana flavor.

Our service was very good. He was friendly and talked with us about his travels.

I visited the Watzke at the Golden Rider in Neustadt and enjoyed my dinner there, so decided to try the other location on the Ring. I was a little surprised to see that they had different menus, but I had a really nice lunch at this location.

I especially like the fact that they serve full liters of beer (ein maß). Their beer on tap is excellent.

I had a sesame chicken breast dish that came with some type of thin noodles with vegetables in a spicy sauce. It was tasty, but a little on the salty side.

Service was very good and this location had a very cost feel. There was a soccer game going on while I was there with the Dresden Dynamo playing at home against the Cottbus Energie. They had a couple of screens showing the game with audio. It was a nice experience on a rainy afternoon to sit there with a beer, a good meal and a game to watch. I really recommend trying this restaurant.

Great place to grab local food and drinks at Dresden. Prices are reasonable, and waitresses are very nice and friendly (English-speaking as well)!

I ordered a garlic soup with fresh herbs and croutons, then a perch fillet with some veggies and a sauerkraut potatoe pancake. And of course their beer. The beer was great, but the rest not so much. I didn't feel anything fresh in the soup and the croutons were actually gummy (in other words, they were old). And the fillet was without any taste; I couldn't finish it. It wasn't fresh, for sure. This was my worst dining experience on my German trip. I'm quite disappointed...

Came there in the middle of the day, seated outside. Water was very helpful in English. Sausages and smoked pork knuckle were great. House dessert is also delicious. Beer is great - take a liter. Can't complain on anything.
