Wild At Heart

Wild at Heart was exactly what I was hoping for. A proper punk/dive bar. It delivered in spades. The decor was perfect, messy, dark, a little dank. The peeps were friendly in their own way. Took a little bit of time but eventually they seemed to warm to me. One huge biker dude took a shine to me and kept joking with me all night in broken English. At the end of his night (which was quite early) he swooped in and gave me a kiss on the cheek and wished me a lovely vacation.

The bathrooms were cleaner and nicer than the cobalt/funkys/astoria from my dives back home in Vancouver - seriously Vancouver, get your shit together - LITERALLY.

Drink prices seemed super reasonable to me. But really anywhere in Europe they seem reasonable to me. Bartender didn't really know how to make a whiskey sour and what I ended up drinking wasn't that fantastic, but I think that's my fault, what the hell was I doing ordering a whiskey sour at this place? Beer seems to be the best bet.

The place filled up quick and seemed very popular with the locals and tourists alike.

Chill, easy vibe, intimate atmosphere. Lots of live bands, but sometimes could be a slow night. Came here on a Thursday, paid 10€ cover, and the band showed up about 22:45 and was done by 23:30. So, varies by the night. Would come here again on a better night.

Wild at Heart is one of the best rock bars in the world. It's exactly like the sort of places I like to hang out back home... only better!

Grab a beer and enjoy great DJs, awesome bands and even a regular burlesque show!

I had been told to go here by various people who had travelled there to perform with their bands and I'm glad I listened to their advice.

The crowd were all great too, you felt really comfortable and among like-minded people.

My favourite night in Berlin was the night I spent at Wild at Heart.

GO. I urge you.

One final tip - make sure to go next door and eat at Tiki Heart.

Great little rockabilly bar! Of all the bars I went to on a recent crawl of Kreuzberg, Wild At Heart was the one that I enjoyed the most. It's a little bit off the beaten track though, so you have to go a bit out of your way to find it.


Next door they also have a lovely little cafe, which is definitely worth checking out for breakfast.

I LOVE this place. I lived right up the street off Lausitzer Strasse and there was more than one time where I ended up drinking whiskey shots here at 5 in the morning. It's decorated in punk rock and rockabilly photos and trinkets and you can't leave without feeling like you just experienced something major. I will always think of this place fondly, even with the dank smell of piss in the toilets, which added to its deeply rooted punk flair.

Iconic bar for Punk Rock, Psychobilly and Rockabilly enthusiasts. This place reminded me of a cross between CBGB's (NYC) and Al's Bar - R.I.P. - (Los Angeles) The staff are friendly and damn, I just realized that I have even played gigs on two occasions when I was in a band called 'Snap-Her'. If anyone reading this has a photos or video footage of Snap-Her on (or off) stage, would you please let me know. I played in bands for 18 years and have very little to show for it as far as documentation goes.

it was meant to be. in all of Berlin, i happened to pass by a place named "Wild at Heart", which is only one of my favorite/the best movies of all time. i walked inside and to my surprise, it was a psychobilly bar with live music that stays open until the wee hours of the morning. great music, great people, cheap booze.
