I'm definitely recommending this! The staff was super friendly. We had the Yellow Curry (No. 62 on the menu). Despite my complicated wishes, it all came as I ordered it. The cook came out and told me about all the ingredients and was very open for extra wishes, because she makes everything from scratch freshly and can do whatever you wish for. (Vegan, soy free or gluten free or MSG free orders are no big deal for her). The service was very friendly and compared to other Thai restaurants the prices were very affordable. The taste was delicious!
We visited Le Pain Quotidien in the morning for some breakfast. We had the Avocado Toast and oat meal with berries banana and walnuts.
The food tasted very nice and the service fast and very friendly. I didn't like that we weren't offered extra soy milk and asked if it comes with an extra charge. The answer was no and then the waiter continued asking if we also wanted some extra berries. But here we found an extra charge on the bill later. I didn't find this very attentive of the waiter after telling him that we wanna avoid extra charges. So be careful here.
On the menu everything that is vegan has a little carrot on the side, which makes it comfortably to choose without having to ask a lot. I wish I would've had some time to try their drinks which are all available with almond milk or soy milk. Le Pain Quotidien offers interesting options like turmeric latte. Altogether I really enjoyed it. The prices are not super expensive, but it isn't cheap either. Definitely a good breakfast option.
I usually skip vegan restaurants and rather have a vegan option at a regular restaurant or some side dishes, because they are expensive and not really overwhelming. However this doesn't apply for the Chicago Diner. It is the best rated vegan restaurant in Chicago and this is totally deserved.
It is well visited but the staff deals with it and good organized. Super friendly. The prices are very reasonable. And the taste is just amazing.
We had the Thai "chicken wings" and for entree we had the stir fry (with tofu and tempeh - I love both, but the tofu is even better). Service is fast. Sizes are big. Not as tiny as you usually find them in vegan restaurants. They really fill your stomach. Parkings are easy to find outside (I paid something like 2$ for a whole hour).
If you wanna make your stay as a vegan in Chicago unforgettable - stop by and eat here!
By the way - This is the first time I actually taking leftovers home, because it was so good. But even when it comes to the boxes they use an eco-friendly box. This restaurant integrates the vegan lifestyle from head to toe.
Günstig. Die Mitarbeiter können direkt sagen, was vegan ist ohne lange nachzufragen. Immer frisch und lecker. Gehe gerne hin.
