I am an Indian and my advice is DON'T GO THERE!! We ordered masala dosa, chicken dishes no. 30 and 31. I have to say the food lacks taste. It's completely out of taste and the curry of chicken was stale and tasted horribly wrong.
Masala dosa had simple potatoes without anything, I mean anything! No chili, no curry leaves, no mustard seeds..nothing! Honestly, I wanted my money back.
I have been to many Indian restaurants and this by far has disappointed me most.
Indian writing. We ordered masala dosa, idli and rasam vada. I have to say the food lacks taste of spices. I have been to many South Indian restaurants and this by far has disappointed me most.
We went with a lot of expectations from this place. The ambiance is beautiful. Very ethnic and the sitting place is comfortable. The host was very friendly but the waiter was extremely unfriendly.
The food came in small portions, too small. Rice plate for one person was only half a plate (or less). Naan were size of a roti. Anyone from India know how big a naan is. I wonder how is this restaurant tricking people with such small food. It's embarrassing
Chicken karahi was bad, gravy only if oil, chicken was like rubber. Chicken saag had the spinach tasting bitter. Chicken jalfrezi had raw carrots! It's not Indian
I would say it's an experience you should have if you want to throw money out.
I am going to say the best part of the restaurant was the service. The staff was extremely friendly. We placed a wrong order due to some confusion but they changed our burger after it arrived, which is not so common here in Germany.
House made ice tea was surprisingly "not supermarket" like which is always good.
Burgers are crispy and tasty meat. Sitting area is comfortable with cushioned seats so that's a plus. I would say it's a good place to hangout with your friends.
This was the first time I tried Surinamese/Indonesian food and Haarlem has a lot of them. This restaurant was my first and the environment was very "American diner" kind. It has sitting at the back and the food is displayed in front which I like. You can see the food and pick what you like and pay by the weight of the dish.
The price point is the best, it's cheap and offers lot of options for snacking. Taste is close to Indian food though I didn't quite like the fried eggs.
I would recommend this for lunch or evening snacks.
Don't go to lunch here if you are hungry!
My friend and I went here for lunch with the reduced price menu and ordered for matar mushroom and daal tadka. The quatity, so less!! You get only 6-7 spoons out of the whole dish and they served only one rice plate for both of us!!
Seriously, I am paying 6.90 euros for less than half a plate of food. I have had better experiences.
