Well, this is not hotel for business or for adults who request and expect certain level of comfort. Definitely not for me. Being Titanium Bonvoy Member, I get used to something better than slightly glorified Moxy. This is more for 16-25 y.o. demographics. Tiny rooms 16 sq ft, didn't care much for "Barbie" style decor, all roses, and greenish, and girlish. No table to work, but enough room for minibar. Didn't like toiletries either, wrong flavor. Service was ok, the rate wasn't bad either, if not for ridiculous $40 resort fee that covers nothing of interest for me. Location is not the best, too long of a walk anywhere decent. All in all, not horrible, 2.5 out of 5, but definitely big for me. There are much better boutique hotels in Miami Beach from Accor, like Casa Faena

We had high expectations, being from that corner of the world and traveling to Ukraine on many occasions. I am quite familiar with Ukrainian food and dishes, and this "modern Ukrainian" is, unfortunately, hit ot miss. I give it 3.5 out of 5, but closer to 3 than 4. Quite cozy and pleasant place, warm and inviting decor. Ukrainian touches are tasteful, and authentic. Service is quite friendly and cheerful. Everyone is smiling and glad to be there, as far as I could see. Now back to the food, and it is definitely overhyped and overpriced, big time. Some of the "zakuski" (appetizers) on the cart are not authentically Ukrainian, and some prices were just raising eyebrows. Perhaps, we know too much about the origins of these dishes, hence, it was difficult to enjoy it. We did like sunflower seed hummus, I enjoyed trout roe tart (for $12). Bread was delicious, BTW. We passed on principle $20 borsht, as we eat very good home made borsht at home. Never seen $20 borsht in my life, for standard portion, and had it at least 100+ times in different restaurants around the world. Draniki (potato pancakes) were disappointing, as they were overfried and very salty. Serving it with feta cheese is a weird touch. I like draniki and feta cheese, but not together. I didn't particularly like sturgeon balls with mashed potatoes, less than inspiring. My wife thought that her chicken shashlik was too fatty and not flavorful. Wine list is purely Eastern European, eclectic and overpriced. We found decent bottle of Georgian wine from Imereti, Qvevri red, if you know what it is. If you don't, please find Qvevri Georgian wine, and try it!
Nastoika called Pyanaya Vishnya (Drunk Cherry) wasn't very good, $9 shot. I had very good one in Riga, Latvia last year, and no comparison, alas.
I doubt that we will be back, but you gotta make your own impression. I would recommend other Ukrainian restaurants in Chicago area, more authentic, and more approachable, and whole lot less expensive.

Enjoyed my short one night stay on business in Fairmont in downtown Pittsburgh. Classic Fairmont right in the middle of everything. Excellent service, got upgraded to nice suite on a high floor as ALL Platinum Member
Quiet luxury, a bit old fashioned perhaps. Nothing to complain about whatsoever. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean, and smell nice. Spacious bathroom with high quality toiletries.
The rate was quite reasonable too. The restaurant and bar are also nice. Would like to be back, if travel to Pittsburgh.

Very nice bakery, quite busy on Friday night. We stopped by for Turkish coffee, and some pastries and sweets. Liked everything. Service at the counter was friendly and efficient, the food and coffee came quickly. Plesant atmosphere and ambiance, no complaints whatsoever

I stayed there for 3 nights on business, and I wish I stayed elsewhere. Perhaps, sister hotel Element next door would work out better for me.
To be honest, I've had better luck with Element hotels, than with Alofts lately.

      Here are the facts:

I checked in on Monday night and asked (as usual) for nice quiet room on a higher floor away from elevator. To my dismay, I was assigned the room on 2nd floor, next to elevator, and, even worse, next to ice/vending room.

My Bonvoy Titanium Elite status wasn't acknowledged either and I had a feeling that the staff member was disinterested and possibly had a problem with English language (as many others staff members, unfortunately).

I had to come back downstairs and request different room. After some reluctance, I was given a larger and nicer room on the 3rd floor. It is much better location, but there was a problem with HVAC system, A/C and heat. I asked for maintenance to check it out, but nobody came on Mon night. The issue was addressed on Tuesday only.

The room didn't look too clean to me, and there was dirty little towel hanging on top of the bath. Moreover, there were few potato chips dropped weight by the door of the room, and the floor wasn't vacuumed there for 24+ hours.

Then there was an issue with water. Water smells really bad in the sink and in the shower, but I understand this is not something hotel can control. What hotel could've done at least is to provide water bottles for drinking and teeth cleaning. This is one of very few Marriott properties that doesn't bother to leave bottled water in the room. I don't mind too much filtered water, but there was nowhere to refill my bottle. The bartender recommended using bottled water only due to the smell, and taste of the water. I asked repeatedly to leave few bottles of water in my room, but it was refused. They even had a nerve to suggest that I should buy the bottled water from the pantry! That is not acceptable, and I made myself clear that I have zero interest to pay for the bottled water and would grab at least 2 bottles per day, complimentary, of course. I am never asked to pay for bottled water @Marriott properties, and I stayed for 600+ nights.

Finally, and I might stop at that on long issues list: Aloft letter clearly states that "you will receive a tidy refresh of the room every day, which includes garbage removal and towel replacement". This is a lie, pure and simple. On Tuesday I had to beg a lady who was cleaning the other room for the refresh. She didn't understand English, but was king enough to take care of this refresh. On Wednesday morning I stopped by front desk and politely requested refresh, as promised. The front desk rep wrote my room number, and nothing was done, of course. Zero. Nobody even bothered to enter my room for a whole day, while I was out.
      There were few positives too:
      - the rate was quite reasonable;
      - the complimentary breakfast for the Elites in Element next door was adequate, and everyone was quite friendly there.

I will try other Marriott property when I am in Orlando on business next time!
