Probably the least smoke flavor of any barbecue I have ever had. This place is famous but I don't know why as the food was just cooked in an oven and not smoked. Some of the sides are pretty good but that's about it.
I was pretty excited about trying this place after looking over their website. The only thing that worried me is I didn't see a "pit master" listed. I found out very quickly why, this place certainly smells like a bbq joint inside and they have lots of wood stacked up out side, but they're definitely not getting any good smoke penetration. If it's not electric smokers, then they're doing something horribly wrong and need to hire a pit master now. They have lots of stuff on the walls about being dedicated to the fire but it is not reflected in the food they serve. Pretty decent for restaurant quality, and the sides are good, but not a real bbq joint, just a place with cooks and no pit master.
The sushi menu is confusing as they lost the ingredients but they don't tell you what is inside, outside, or how it is rolled. Most of the fish items are the spicy mix instead of the fresh fish. The one roll I accidentally chose that was a specialty maki roll was delicious but I wouldn't know how to order it again because all of the rolls I ordered were from the same section of the menu.
The menu has a lot of variety and many options. The fish is fresh and they have plenty of healthy options. But, there is no flavor in the food. They are stingy with the sauces which make the bulk of the flavor but everything else is flavorless. For example the ramen was fresh and home made but there was no salt, the broth was spicy but I had to add soy sauce to it to get any flavor out of it, the chicken was cooked but unseasoned, the only salt in the whole bowl was the pickled ginger but there was not enough of that to go around. The poke bowl and sushi were the same story. They were just the raw ingredients thrown together with small amounts of sauce and no salt or pepper in the rice.

We are sorry that you didn't enjoy the dishes, Sam. Many sushi bars use cheap fish, so they have to use a lot of sauce to cover up the fish flavor. We use only fresh, wild-caught fish and the highest quality ingredients available, so we don't feel the need to use a lot of sauces. But we are always happy to add more sauce if you just ask. Also, we work to reach a happy medium with the seasoning, especially the salt. Some people like spicy, others do not. Some like heavy salt, other do not. We can always add salt and spices if the customer desires, but we can not take salt out. For the same reason, we do not use a lot of Sriracha chili sauce. Our customers prefer to add extra Sriracha to suit their taste. Sushi and poke never contains pepper in the rice. But, Sam, we can make adjustments to fit your taste. Just ask and we'll be happy to take care of you.
Wow this place is just a factory, moving you through and piggy backing off their heritage. The food was nothing special and the options are severely limited. They're clearly not trying to do anything but push people through and piggy back off of Hattie Bs fame.
