Normally we love Cool Basil, but their takeout system is absurd. We ordered online. Showed up to 40 people waiting in the cold for their food, with no employees in sight. Some customers gave up waiting and left. Really disappointed.
Bring a book and a journal, and hunker down in the cozy East Village space.
One of my only repeat spots during my two-week NYC trip. And I miss it already!! Spent hours here, drinking *delicious* coffee and espresso... try out their Olive Oil cake too!
Expensive. Unimpressive- but not bad. The chilaquiles are basically chips with sauce and cream... so don't expect much for your $20 purchase!
Delicious food, well-prepared and beautiful. Classic farm-to-table, seasonally available ingredients. The downside? It lacks its own vision and flair. Been there, done that at tons of other restaurants! This one has a hefty price tag.
Disappointing! Decent prices for half-decent food. I'd rather spend $5 more for superb food somewhere else.
