It's a typical old french restaurant. I ordered a tartine with goats chees and thyme and I liked it very much. The wine (a merlot and moscat) were good although the white could have been a bit colder. It was a pity that there was only one waitress for all the guests but nevertheless, we could order very quickly.

Must visit in Strasbourg. Amazing, authentic, traditional and yummy tartines for cheap prices!!
Don't get the dessert...the pies were really weird and we did not like.
Very cute, kitschy place.
However, the service is ehhh.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Greg S.Kannapolis, Vereinigte Staaten3798415. Nov. 2022

Food is good but staff not so approachable if you don't speak French well
Liked the coffee

Simple and delicious, casual atmosphere, vintage decor. Fabulous.
But what put this place over the top is their Chartreuse themed cocktails. From now on you're subbing Chartreuse for rum in your mojitos! And always finish a meal with a few sips of Elixir des Pères Chartreux!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alessandro P.Potomac, Vereinigte Staaten92983113. Apr. 2019

This is as french as you can get. I loved this place, and while small, packed in the experience. I went with the croque monsieur and it was fantastic along with the little salad that accompanied. If you don't like being close to other guests, this may not be your kind of place, but a seat is hard to come by. The service was polite and friendly, and along with the food, am so glad I waited to eat here. Fantastic choice and well deserving of its rating!

Delicious place for lunch. Had a brief wait. Our waitress didn't speak much English but we managed to get by! The goat cheese, almond, and honey tartine is amazing, there must have been a whole log of cheese on there and it was very filling. We also had side salads and a duck and gherkin terrine. I didn't enjoy it as much but hubby liked it a lot.

Truly disappointing experience. We took two sandwiches - they were mediocre and quite small for the price. The tea served in a big bowl with one normal tea bag - you cannot expect anything good from that mixture. If you are looking for a nice cozy place or good food it is not a right direction.

Really a nice little place for a casual meal or drinks in Strasbourg.
A 'tartine' is basically an open-faced sandwich (on amazing bread) with sweet or salty toppings and could be topped with cheese - if hot and melty -- if not some of them are served cold.
Great interior and good decor/feel and a nice outdoor patio.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Wasabi K.Hamburg9183882. Sept. 2008Erster Beitrag
L'epicerie has a nice atmosphere and lovely food - espcially for me as a tourist in France. Thankfully the menu is written in English or German, too. As beautiful as the French language may sound we don't like surprises due to bad language skills when it comes to food. :)
The tartine / bread was tasty and also nice to look at.
And the taste of the mousse au chocolate as dessert was just pure heaven I can tell you.
Service itself was friendly and quick.
Whatta funny bloke! :)
Their prices are generally moderate and fair.
Due to the gorgeous weather it was nice to be able to sit outside, too, and watch the passer-bys.
My feeling told me: a very French café / restaurant.
I'd love to come back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
