The Barn

I normally like the barn! The iced latte is incredible. The one at rosenthaler Platz is miles better than this one. This one is too strong, too watery. Pretty disappointing. I wouldn't order it again here. Try another location of the barn!

To say that I am disappointed with their Service, product, and Customer care is an understatement. I can't remember the last time I ever ran into a situation that got me so excited and angry at the same time. And that all for 14 Euro. My family and I stopped at your Cafe at the Alte Potsdamerstrasse 5 in Berlin. We ordered 4 cups of coffee, which I paid by CC upon ordering. Even though the place was not overly busy, it took about 15 min until the coffee was ready for pickup at the counter. Asking for milk seemed to be a bother and searching for some sugar (only Candies sugar that is usually used for tea) in a somewhat dirty bowl, used by all the guests took another couple of minutes and was a task. When we finally took our first sip, all 4 of us immediately thought that the milk was expired, since the coffee tasted extremely sour. When we took back our (still full) cups, the lady barista was not impressed and said that it was not the milk, but that the coffee bean itself was sour. When I asked for a refund, I was told that none of the 3 employees knew how to do a refund on the CC machine. They tried to reach the Manager over the phone ( Allan) who finally picked up the phone and told them for me to request a refund over your website. I NEVER HEARD SOMETHING SO RIDICULOUS. One of the employees told me that no employee knows the full name of the manager, but was nice enough to provide me with his cell #. When he tried (several times) to reach him one more time, so I could speak with him directly, the manager failed to pick up his phone. I finally reached that "Allan" - Manager this morning around 10:45 AM, He gave me the runaround, and told me to request a refund over the website since he is only responsible for operational issues. He continued to tell me that he was just woken up and I called him during his private time! Oh, did I mention that their employees (in Germany) only speak English and don't accept cash.

Very friendly service and staff, that knows their coffee. Looking forward to tasting their blends that they sell in the coffee house.

You can take this as good or bad, but The Barn distinctly reminds me of some of my favorite coffee shops in my home of Portland, Oregon. It's got the aesthetic. It's got the attention to detail. It's got the rigidness. And it's also go the very, very, very good coffee. Five stars.

I selected from their pour-over menu, and frankly I can't remember what I ordered. What I do recall is that the wait wasn't out of the ordinary, and when it was ready the barista volunteered quite a bit of info about what he had made, including the origin of the beans, the process he had gone through and the tasting notes. The information clearly hasn't stuck with me, but I find his passion admirable and his customer service on point.

I'd happily go back on the regular, if I lived on the same continent.

Wanted a good coffee experience before exploring Berlin.

Essentially, it's like any hipster coffee shop in Portland/Oakland/Brooklyn in the US. Minus that, this is place is legit good. Ample seating, nice decor, and great lighting. Didn't try any of the food but it all looked appetizing.

Coffee is pricey but I'd say it's worth it. I loved the La Parcelita and ended up grabbing a bag of beans to go. :)

Absolutely, and by a landslide, the best coffee in the city. Consistently over the past 6 or so years delivering the silkiest, smoothest Black Gold I have ever tasted (and I have lived in Hawaii where they have the Kona coffee).

Location could be more comfortable but the divine feeling of privilege your taste buds are allowed to experience when the flat white hits your nerves makes up for it.

If you don't like the coffee here, you're most definitely and utterly a bogan.

PS All the neg. revs here sound like Starbuck bums who don't appreciate quality not endure the time it takes to create smth special. Don't listen to that crap.

It seems like a lot of the best coffee bars in Berlin are have foreign baristas? Or is it just me? Australian, British etc :)

This place is for real coffee nerds no doubt. And the coffee (flat white) and carrot cake was amazing.

My friend asked if she could get her coffee in a glass as that's what she prefers but this was not possible!? This was weird to me!

They know a lot about coffee no doubt but don't be posh about whether to serve it in a glass or a cup. The coffee should taste the same, right? ;)

My favorite coffee shop during three day stay in Berlin! I came here after a disappointing experience at Factory Girl across the street. The Barn was everything Factory Girl is not- friendly, delightful, and hotspot for a delicious caffeine fix. They had a great iced latte which I enjoyed with my friends over a piece of chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was very decadent and I enjoyed the sweetness subdued by the iced coffee.

We sat on their outdoor patio which was very fun among all the young people in the area. The service was very fast and friendly and I highly recommend coming here! There is a minimum for using a credit card (5 euros I think?) so either bring cash or order a well-deserved pastry for yourself!

Very cute and cozy coffee bar with a great wooden interior. Gay friendly. The staff is very nice, coffee is great. Perfect place to start a day with a coffee and a newspaper...
If you find a place to sit. There are not so many tables in there (unfortunately)

Wonderful coffee. The chocolate nut-bread was wonderfully dense and flavorful. Sat outside and enjoyed the neighborhood.
