We first heard about this place at the Neubaugassenfest and went there for dinner tonight. The place is tiny, however, very cozy and the tiki styled interior has it's own cheesy charm. The steamboos that they serve appear to be their own own steetfood creation and are basically rice blocks that come with different toppings. You can have many differt styles from vegan to fish, cheese, or even chocolate. Be aware the flavor is strong in these ones ;-) They go along with some craft beers I've never heard of and a ginger drink I really liked. All in all this evening clocked in at 19€ for the two of us including drinks.
Authentic Bulgarian food in an authentic setting. I love when a regional themed restaurant feels like a short holiday and this is definitely one of it. The restaurant features a rustic interior, typical dishes and likely staff. Prices are very moderate, a dinner for two including drinks concluded at around 30€ including beer.
If you are looking for affordable Indian food in a nice restaurant look no further. A small restaurant close to U2 Volkstheater offers authentic Indian cuisine in a small, however, tasteful location. There are only a few small tables so don't count on visiting in a large group. We had two mains, two naans and lassies which caused a bill of around 30€. The food was excellent and the service was also good. I liked that they let you decide on the spicyness of your dish individually.
Lucky find in Ottakring. We were looking for a nice restaurant for a Wednesday evening and found this one. Not overly appealing from the outside, this Italian restaurant is a true gem. Heavily frequented by locals, so I guess our good experience was not only a one off. Two drinks and two pizza resulted in a 25euro bill, which I find appropriate. The restaurant looks nice, surely decent enough to take your sweetheart out, and the food is excellent. The service was friendly however not over ambitious.
I've stumbled into this restaurant purely by accident, however, it was a lucky one. The compact menu offers a good variety of Turkish dishes, Bureks seem to be the most prominent sub category and I can see why. Me and my friend tried a cheese and a beef version and both were excellent. Large rations, neatly arranged with a fresh lime slice and herbs made it one of the best I had so far. Service was friendly and swift though not hasty and the bill including two drinks was around 17€. They also do takeaway.
