Goddamn, this is some pretty good pizza! For a nondescript hole in the wall, they did right by us. Price wise they're pretty much on par with other typical pizza places, and if pizza ain't your thing, I recommend the loaded bacon fries - those things are like pure crack - instantly addictive.
All in all this place is more Banderas than Guy Hamilton and that's a good thing.
This place is right outside the Prudential and proximity to the venue, as far as I'm concerned, is the only thing it's got going for it. My kid ordered an inedible mac and cheese and I waited while they forgot to cook my dinner, brought me the wrong dinner and then waited some more until they brought me a middling sandwich. We won't be back.
Really nice place. Clean, well appointed, nice owner. There is a piano, a stage, plenty of amplification, a well kitted drum set, lots of seating and there's even a projector and a screen, which leads me to believe you can rent out the space for something like a music video premiere or something to that effect.
I cannot recommend Commander Zodiac enough! We signed our 10 year old up for beginner's sailing lessons (he was adamantly opposed to trying it, but once he did it he said he'd do it again), and we signed the whole family up for the dolphin watching cruise, which was a blast (much of the good time was due to Graham, our boat captain, who was knowledgeable, personable and conscientious. Kudos also to the lady who sighed us up - I noticed in a previous review she (or perhaps another employee) got a bad rap, but as far as we're concerned, she was fabulous.
P.S. we saw a buttload of dolphins (in nautical terms, buttload equals roughly 100 or so).
The spicy Szechuan chicken is fantastic! Not quite as spicy as the Szechuan joint a few miles down the road in Hamilton, NJ, but more flavorful. This is also true of the spicy Szechuan noodles.
Price wise they are more expensive than the typical Chinese mom and pop place, but the quality of the dishes far exceeds those other places.
Kudos also to the old man who was working there - he was funny, jovial and attentive.
This is the second time I've gone out of my way to come here and will do so again.
